I am interested to know what they thought of the Hotel and also the food if you know please?
She says it seemed really nice, and very modern. It is right under Manchester airport flightpath but you can't hear the planes from the room. I think they will only be eating breakfast there as the plan is to go & visit friends. Will keep you posted. :j0 -
Just returned from our very enjoyable stay at St David's.
It is primarily a business hotel of a reasonable standard.
We had few complaints about our rooms. Sky Sport and WiFi were a bonus.
Kettle and iron provided ( only tested one of them!)
Bed was 2 singles pushed together - although this may have been because we asked for the room to be next to our other one which was a twin.
The rooms were adjoining which was a bonus.
Pool and gym facilities were fine, we used the pool both days and again after checking out today.
Breakfast buffet was substantial and decent value, plenty of variety - and our children ate free. This may have been because I had raised the issue previously or because they have changed their policy - I would advise asking first.
Chester was a great place to visit.
Don't forget to take vouchers for the zoo if you are going: http://kidsvisitfree.pizzahut.co.uk/Voucher?token=798e8c1612c462aa3a7bc5c7f4cb7058&utm_source=one-off-email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Kids%2BGo%2BFree

Had a lovely weekend - hotel really nice - didn't use the pool but a lot of people did - the rooms were lovely and the hotel is in lovely grounds - would thoroughly reccommend - only I emailed them and asked for adjoining rooms - one room was for my boys aged 16 and 11 and they said this was no problem - when we turned up they tried to give us rooms in totally different places - I stood my ground and thy gave us 2 rooms sort of diagonally across the corridor - and as we had a fire alarm at 9.15 this morning I was pleased as the boys were still in bed.Titch0

I'd just like to second everything previous poster has said about Barony Castle. We've just had a lovely weekend there too, no complaints. The rooms, food and staff were excellent. Luckily we were on our way out when the fire alarm went ! Our children (7 and 4) loved walking around the grounds we even spotted a woodpecker !0

In response to Violetta,- yes stayed at Shaw Ridge for one night and had a good stay-not in such splendid grounds as other venues, it was by a car park which also served a bowling alley, cinema complex, chinese restaurant and across the road from ice rink and small shopping centre. The pool was lovely-just like LA Fitness set up. Didn't eat there, so cannot comment, but overall it suited us well-we had a twin room, which also had a fridge.0

We've just come back from St David's in Chester. It was a lovely hotel, and the room was great too - a HUGE double bed, large room, really warm and cosy. Very friendly staff too. Would go again for sure.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
