We go to St David's tomorrow - not sure if we should bother now!

At £20 for 2 nights it's worth a punt. If it's really bad we won't bother with the second night.

Did anyone who stayed there use the restaurant at all?

Just wondered about the quality and price of food or whether we should look elsewhere for breakfast and dinner?

    Thanks
  • We cancelled our reservation at Gorse Hill after hearing some not so nice things, they still charged the £10 even though we cancelled with a few weeks notice. Not really worried but I bet they rented the room out again as it was for valentines night. I wonder how much they have made on people not turning up ??, bet there was a few of us from here.

We were told that 3 course dinner was £14.99 each. Starter & desert served to table, you have to collect your main.
In our room there was a voucher for 20% of food.
    xx

We've been to Deveres Betchworth & my mum has been to Haslemere and they were both really nice. A friend stayed at High Wycombe and wasn't terribly impressed though.

Mind you for £10, you'd spend that on heating & electricity staying home for the night!
  • I stayed at the Greenwich location Devonport House a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a great bargain. The room was quite big and modern with a very comfortable bed. It reminded me more of a conference centre than a four star hotel though.

Please let me know if you go, or indeed dine there, as we have 2 seperate nights booked at this particular Devere (St Davids Park), one of them early March and one of them mothers day weekend, and it actually is (was now maybe?) the one i'm most looking forward to out of all my booked DeVeres...

Has anyone else stayed at Deveres, Gorse Hill yet? We are supposed to have two nights there in a few weeks time. Have been onto Trip Advisor and can't find anything hideous about it - would like to hear from someone who has actually been there, thanks.

what a bunch of whingers some of you are. you paid £10 thats all.

I stayed this weekend at the warbrook in hook and had a fantastic time.

the hotel was beautiful, stunning grounds, fantastic staff, lovely room and a nice bar meal. what more do you want.

as a bonus there was a cracking little pub just outside the gates with a roaring fire and whats more a late stop on. as a welsh rugby fan the pub was fantastic as it was also the home of the mauraders rugby team. i had a great time with the regulars there - i was made to feel very very welcome.

So there's at least 4 that we've been to that are really good. We couldn't fault the two in Surrey so far - I was reading Trip Advisor and it made me laugh that someone complained about the fact that the bathroom was disproportionately large compared to the bedroom - wonder if they took their tape measure with them! :rotfl:

Of course you should go! It's somewhere to sleep that's all. It's really not that bad and definitely worth £10 per night. In fact we paid £29 per night and were happy with that. We had a great weekend and hardly spent any time in the hotel. We didn't bother eating there. Breakfast was served to you and we prefer the ones where you can stuff your face with whatever you want! :D The restaurant was fully booked up on Sat night so we went out. There are plenty of pubs etc nearby. If you are expecting 4* you are not going to get it but if you are expecting a cheap few nights away it is fine.
