Dont post very often but had to say we stayed at St David's Park a couple of weekends ago for 2 nights and had a great time room was lovely big sofa and armchair plenty of towels and staff where very friendly well worth £10 a night
  • Stayed at sunningdale park, ascot for 2 nights
last weekend. Rooms were fantastic, staff excellent
and a nice bar aswell. Do you need anymore

    All for 20quid
  • I just want to reply to the 'what do you expect for £10' comments.

I'm pretty sure that they don't have seperate dingy rooms for people staying on the £10 offer. I expect and hope that we were treated the same as any other full paying guests- in which case would it be ok to be dissappointed with a few things?
Surely its not ' them scrubbers only paid a tenner so they can share a towel!!'
We did enjoy ourselves. It was nice to have a night away without the kids. The things I mentioned earlier just came as a surprise to me thats all.
    xx

We only cancelled becuase we had heard it was more of a conference centre than a romantic hotel for Valentines day, also heard that the rooms that are not in the main hotel block are not brilliant, but only facility and location wise, nothing hideous.

FEvans, I am not whinging, we just chose not to go, I was just pointing out that we get good bargains on here and when it comes to actually going to the hotel, I wonder how many of us dont go. Dont get me wrong, for £10 you cant go wrong, like another poster has said, it is only a place to sleep, just wasnt what we wanted for valentines day.

Anywhere we stay without taking the kids is romantic for us - as we don't get away on our own - ever!

I have been sent an email from Deveres stating that you can upgrade your room for £15 - I wonder if this is in the main block if it is worth doing..... mmm probably not, would maybe be worth spending the extra on wine and then it wouldn't matter what the room looked like!?

Just came back from Staverton Park, Daventry. Nice big rooms, friendly staff.

We had breakfast and dinner there. No complaints really.
  • we also stayed 2 nights at staverton park the weekend it was very icy and snowy!! other than a very dangerous slippery carpark it was great.

rooms lovely, coffee/tea points around hotel were a nice touch, internet access in rooms, also some computers in reception for guests to use. has a swimming pool and sauna.

we didnt eat breakfast as up to late but did eat dinner for 2 courses for £15 a person was great, they did have main meals from about £7 also.

we got bus into daventry which was £1.20 each, each way and took about 12mins - not alot there but a good 2hr wander round and some lunch in a cafe.

there is a bus from outside hotel also to rugby which takes 50mins, but we didnt go there so dont knwo cost.

    would def stay again.

St David's is fine, no need to panic peeps.

Well worth the cost, think we've drunk £10 worth of tea and coffee!

One thing though, we've been told children pay £7.50 for breakfast.

This seems to contradict most peoples experiences.

Does anyone know where it mentioned the price originally, thanks.
