  • Im sorry to dissapoint everyone that has booked to stay in De vere 'Chester' but it is not actually in Chester it is actually in Ewloe in Wales!! Chester is about 15 mins drive away and will cost about £30 return in a taxi. Hope everyone is aware of this as we had a shock when we went as we were told by the hotel that Chester was a few minutes away!!!

Hi, I rang the Daventry hotel direct on 0844 980 2317 and asked about having 2 children in a double room with myself and hubby before booking. I spoke to a very nice lady who explained that a double room was not big enough to accomodate this, but that they did interconnecting rooms and I would need to book 2 rooms then ring up and ask for them to be interconnecting ones.

  • Got back from our £10 night away yesterday. We had a few things go wrong.
Firstly- although check-in was meant to be at 2pm, our room wasn't ready until 4.3o. The reception was full of other people waiting around for rooms to be cleaned.
Our room wasn't any 'posher' than any travelodge which is fine- its just that I had been 'bigging' it up when telling my hubby about the surprise. I dont think we have stayed in 4* before?
The tiny cream pots for making coffee in the room were off, the shower rail fell off onto hubbys foot, we only had 1 towel and about 1 metre of toilet roll.
When we checked out reception said there was £10 to pay? I said that I had prepaid for the room but she said the room was £20. I stuck to my guns and she eventually changed the price manually.
This made me feel embarrassed though as there were people around.

  • We stayed there this weekend. Our first room was a bit dingy, the cream was off and the shower was cold so we swopped rooms on the Saturday. This room was a bit cleaner but overall we weren't very impressed. The pool was OK but the changing rooms/showers also weren't particularly clean. It was all just a bit run down and in need of a good refurb IMO.
  • We didnt both showing up to ours last weekend, having read reviews on trip advisor comparing it to a prison camp. Only a tenner so not too bothered, saved over £60 quid in petrol by deciding to give it a miss :)
