I was just wondering the same, for one lovely giftset I may do it for myself.
Remember though the full price is more expensive then they were in store originally when they were 3 4 2.
The points you receive wont be able to use in conjunction with any vouchers i.e. blinkies and you wont receive any normal or bonus points on your purchases.
Best of all worlds for Mr B but not for the customer.

  • Oh no  I was out all day yesterday. I checked Boots as soon as I came home and the item I'm seeking was in stock, at full price and Sale Update was still showing so I didn't think anything had changed.

Now I've read this whole thread :(
The item I wanted to purchase is £44 full price, I can't afford it and it's not really worth £44. I saw it before Christmas, then lots left at half price. Drove to large Boots straight after school run on first day of 75% sale but they had sold out in first 20mins. Online was my last chance.

Wondering what Boots will do with items that have use by dates?

    :( Boots

I have just tried again to place my order online as everything reappeared in my basket, got to payment page and its all still full price, so decided to ring CS, spoke to a lovely lady who told me that due to the madness and volume of people trying to get their sale bits when the website went live again yesterday, they have decided that the online sale will not be happening. I asked what would happen to the stock and she said you can buy it at full price and we will give you back the 75% in points, great if you want to spend them in Boots, 'nothing like capturing your customers '!!!!!. I did suggest that this didn't sound totally legal, she just half heartedly laughed.

So that's it I guess, I can have the things I really wanted for gifts so long as Im prepared to give boots back the 75% I would have saved !

    xxx
I'll believe it when I see it.

has anyone had there baskets honoured? i dont want to keep phoning them so i was jsut wondering if anyone had an email address? the links on the website address aren't working. someone from boots did phone back whilst i was doing my school run and i couldnt talk properly to her.
  • I'm SOOO annoyed at Boots...every year I've bought stuff at full price prior to Xmas and then bought a few bits online in the sale.....I feel like I've been penalised this year for not sitting at my computer day and night.....every time I've gone onto the site, its either been down or has taken so long to put stuff in my basket and check out that its crashed before the transaction's been completed!!! Am seriously considering not ever shopping with Boots again....surely they could have a system like Next where loyal customers get preference in the sale and are allotted a slot in which to shop?? They must be able to track 'loyalty' through the advantage card??? That seems a fairer system....also a maximum of 5 of each item to prevent people bulk buying and re-selling on ebay....

How many:eek: I can't imagine many people would genuinely want 5 of an item for personal/family use/gifts.

As for tracking for preferential access to the sale via advantage card/loyalty points....well we would all be on there first without a doubt. It doesn't mean we spend more than other Boots customers, just that we know how to accumulate maximum points for minimum spend. However, if they did it via spend level with Boots via info from the Advantage Card, none of us would get a look in:rotfl:

I think a limit of 2 of each item per customer would be plenty to stop people selling things on Ebay. I doubt I will shop at Boots so much now. Just when there are good offers on where Mr B is paying us fr the privilege of shopping there!

Hasnt it been said on other threads that the Next vip sale isnt actually based on loyalty though? more of a random luck of the draw?
Also no one seems to comment on other websites having items that go out of stock during the sale and Im pretty sure Next dont limit customers order numbers.
Although yes the boots website has been unreliable to say the least during this sale.
Its no more of a penalisation for people who enter a store on the high street 30mins too late and have missed the opportunity to buy the last item in their size.
If boots made a VIP sale like next people would complain - just like they did in the Next thread - ie not getting the earliest sale slot, deliveries being missing, items out of stock but it would also add the people who arent ardent followers of the boots thread so therefore wouldnt have as many advantage points complaining that they werent VIPS
I also find it bizarre that people are saying put a limit on the number of items you can buy - as someone who has numerous relations to buy for its actually easier for me and less hassle in the long run to buy for example all my teenage girl relatives and friends of the family the same item - dont presume everyone bulk buying is doing it to solely make a profit.
I think (and its solely my opinion) that people are forgetting its just a sale - no one would be making this much of a fuss and ringing customer services of any high street store because items werent in their local branch.
Just getting slightly fed up of the posts on here with people moaning they didnt get what they wanted from the Boots online sale, Boots havent handled it the greatest I admit but at least they did try to get it back up and running ok it failed but at least they attempted it.
Feel free to flame me  but thats just my opinion rightly or wrongly (i dont even have an ebay account and have no interest in buying and then selling on for profit)
I just think any solution they come up there would always be at least one person unhappy with the solution - cant please all of the people all of the time
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together
