PSNI Speed Traps

Beware folks..there seems to be a big PSNI speed campaign underway at the minute. I've seen them everywhere this week. In addition to their favourite haunts around Forestside, Newtownards Road, Malone, I've even seen an unmarked blue Ford Focus at it (which i didn't think they were allowed to do) and a trap in Templepatrick at 11PM !

  • The duckpond as you are leaving Newtownards going towards Craiganlet is another popular location.

Slight off topic but I was burgled last week and the police were out in force within 30 minutes and I could not praise them enough. Also insurance claim settled within two days.
  • Lucky you CTT. Not my experience!

Last Year my car was hit, with the kids and I in it, the driver gave me false details, which I suspected at the time, but the PSNI still refused to come out to the accident. 12 months later and the PSNI have managed to loose my statement, and have been unable to trace the driver or the car (even though it has been spotted 5 times in Ballynahinch!!) accident had taken place in Belfast.

But they were quick enough to fine and penalty point me for going over the limit on the first day the camera went into operation on the Saintfield Road!!!
I get so frustrated now when I'm driving on it and a car flies past me, way above the limit, and the camera doesn't flash at them? Is it not turned on all the time? Surely theres an equality issue there?

i came across a speed trap on the B94 outside Ballyclare yesterday - I was with a group of 7 on motorbikes and we were sticking to well under the speed limit anyway as the sun was in our eyes, but several nice people flashed at us to let us know it was coming up.

I am very sorry to hear about the bad experiences some of you have had. Just to sum up my burglery happenend one week day morning and the burglers gained access by braking the cat flap and then reaching up and turning the key that was in the lock. I lesson to us all not to leave the key in the lock when a cat flap is fitted.
  • If the sun is out, don't even think about speeding on the A1 in the 60's zones either at Dromore or Banbridge.

    They will always be there.

For some reason you will never see them during inclement weather.

I take it that's because no-one speeds when the weather is bad?
