  • So what is the craft gift you have made that has received the best reception from people?

I think for me it is anything I make for my Mum as she is insanely proud of me (it's lovely :) ). I made her a minibook for her birthday with things she liked in and pictures of her and some sweet quotes, she carries it around in her handbag now, lol

  • Hi everyone,

I'd like to join in too please!

I make jewellery to sell along side other handmade jewellery I sell on my website and at craft fairs, but I'd really like to do other things that could help me earn a few more pennies! My Mum is in the Scottish Rural (like the WI in England & Wales) and she is always attending workshops and demos for something new!

I also have one of those mini sewing machines that I asked for as a present (cost about £20) - but it is still in the box! Does anyone else use one of these?

Somewhere in the loft I have an old sewing machine, but it is big and bulky and I don't really have the room to keep it anywhere for regular use.

I'm not into knitting/crochet (my hands are too sweaty :o), but I like to do little sewing projects or something completely different that is easy to learn (short span of attention - at least I admit it! :o).

Looking forward to joining in and here's to new ideas!
    Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...
  • Hello new ladies, this is a new thread so all are very welcome, you don't have much to catch up on yet. There are a lot of people on here with some excellent ideas, I think Mary is on a challenge to make every craft in the world and she is well on the way :). I definitely don't organise my crafting, it tends to just get done when I am sitting in front of the telly or chatting to a friend though a few of my friends and I have started taking our knitting/crochet to the pub, 3 girls in their twenties, cool huh :)
I have made a few crochet flowers and added felt and buttons, look really cute, just need some pins on them now

What a coincidence. Is it a furry one? The one I'm doing is really furry and I dont think the sewing will notice that much (fingers crossed - not that OH would notice anyway)

I`m doing a brown knitted one like Mr Bean`s I`m really pleased with the pieces I have knitted. My Mum said she would help me to sew it up so hopefully it will turn out how I would like it to be. :D

Have started to sew mine up, got the head sewn up and the body and joined them together but Oh has just texted to say he is on his way home so teddy has hidden in the cupboard. Will make a start on my Grandaughters first cardigan.

Hi Sian, can I join too please if that's ok? I have two boys who take up most of my time (DS1 is now at school) so craft time is a bit scarce but I love it and sometimes surrender doing house stuff in order to have an evening to make something! I mainly do cross stitch things and make cards.

I have recently ordered a couple of small chipboard tag albums to turn into quote books - maybe a Valentines one and one for my mum for Easter or Mother's Day.

I would like to try making some simple decorations using felt that I could use for tags on presents maybe.

Looking forward to seeing all the ideas on this thread. I was an avid follower of Crafting for Xmas 2008 and have been following the 2009 thread so would love to join here too!

Hi rufus, sorry you can't post your pics, I was really looking forward to seeing them, the only thing I can think is are the pics too big, I'm sure there's a size limit for the forum but I'm so hopeless at this sort of thing I don't even know what size they should be.
I hope one of the ladies can help you out, all this technology buisiness just leaves me

I've just bougt one of the mini sewing machines, although I haven't started using it yet! I'm planning on starting with those drawer fragrance sachets (possibly heart shaped if I'm feeling ambitious!) although I'd like to use something other than lavender  Any ideas anyone?!

My imagination has been kickstarted and there is so much I want to do!

Haven't worked out how to do signatures or anything yet, but I will get there lol

Thanks soblivion. This is what I get when I copy and paste the img tag

I just tried copying the page address so it is a link but when I click on the link in the preview post it says page not found. Its silly isnt it as I have the page open. This is the second account I have with photobucket as I deleted the other one this morning and made a new on with a different email address. May be I will have to see if I can find another hosting site for pictures.
