Ooh, I'm so excited, all you lovely people here since yesterday. I wasn't sure anyone would want to join. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier, I'm impressed at how many ideas there are already!
I gave a work colleague my first nappy cake today and it went down really well, it was a bit of a nightmare to make but I am really pleased with the end result!God is good, all the time

Well snickers0607, I hope you are ready because once you start there is no going back, and your home will be stuffed with 'useful' stuff that you will one day make into something. It is a really rewarding hobby, glad to have you on boardGod is good, all the time

I just have to ask as I get in such a pickle ..........how do you all organise your craft time so you get so much done ? I'm not the most organised of people, start off with good intentions then end up with half the things I wanted to do not being done !!
Is it just me and do you all have some sort of 'method' of arranging your time.
I've a list of 'stuff to do' between now and christmas........Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I don't know Mary, I've managed to get my house just about organised but it's really eating into my crafting time as is tiger Woods on the wii .
I keep thinking that once everything is sorted I'll get more me time and a tidy house but I can't see it happening - work also has a nasty habit of getting in the way.
Another idea I want to add to my list is handbag dust bags. one of my friends was moaning that her Ted Baker bag didn't come with one but the Tommy & Kate one i got her for xmas did (was a real bargain as well;))Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Evening everyone. I've been lurking on the christmas thread but decided to join you all over here as I am making all sorts of presents throughout the year!
One present i really want to make is for my Mum for mothers day. She knits and has a paper bag with her current knitting project in and i wanted to make he something a bit prettier. It needs to be reasonaly sturdy but able to be packed in a suitcase as she travels a lot. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much

Hi Nelmer, this is also my first post. I don't know what sorts of crafts you enjoy doing but here are some suggestions for your bag -
1. Lots of people I know make quilted bags
2. Get a plain cotton bag then decorate -embroider, applique, whatever.
3. I got a cheap bag from a pound shop, it was very nice thick material and lined with handles. Then I crocheted a cover for it and it looks as though I 've made the whole thing.
4. Get a length of fabric double the size of the bag you want. Fold it and sew the ends into wooden handles from the craft shop (or charity shop). Sew up the sides. Line it if necessary.0 -
Morning all. I finbished all my dolls now. Have tried again to get the pics on but its still not showing up when I do the post preview. Just says image is deleted or moved. I thought I would delete my account with them and make a new one up using a different email address but the same thing is happening. Dont know what else to do unless someone can help me out.
I'm finishing off a knitted teddy now for my OH for Valentines day. Just got the last leg to knit and then sew it up.0 -

I`m knitting my hubby a teddy too and am just on the last leg too haha. Not looking foward to sewing it up as I`m worried I`ll ruin it.

What a coincidence. Is it a furry one? The one I'm doing is really furry and I dont think the sewing will notice that much (fingers crossed - not that OH would notice anyway)0
