Id like to join too please. I am knitting dolls like the AK ones shown in the Crafting for Christmas thread. I have finished 2 and nearly finished a third. I made up the patterns myself from looking at the photos. I bought the wool from Kemps and it cost £15, I already had some white 4 ply which was enought to knit the parts to 5 dolls and the wool from Kemps has been used to make the clothes. I will get my OH to take some photos before he goes out so I can show you. The if anyone wants the pattern for the doll itself they can PM me and I'll pass it on. I'm afraid I didnt write down the patterns for the clothes as they were all a bit hit and miss depending on what yarn I was going to use.
I have ordered more wool from Kemps while they still have the clearance and some patterns and intend to knit some cardigans next for my Grandaughter and my eldest daughter. I also want to make some jumpers for the boys with pictures on the front. I used to do these a lot when my son was little (hes 31 now) and used to have some special paper my Mum got me which you could use to draw your own pictures on and then you could follow these. Will be having a search on the web to see if I can find anything on there but if anyone knows what I am talking about and has a link or address I would be greatful.0 -
Hello and welcome to all the new ladies.
rufusdog can't wait to see the dolls, I do know what you mean, I've got some links saved here somewhere, I'll post as soon as I find them. In the meantime this may be useful? http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/ take a pic straight from the computer and it will graph it for you.
Here's one http://www.breienmetplezier.nl/index2.htm click on the word "knittingpatterns" at the top of the page and then "click here for the contents of the knittingpatterns" and then on the left hand side there is a list to chose from.
Choose the different designs down the left hand side http://members.chello.nl/~r.olijve1/Kerst.htm0 -

Thanks soblivion. I found a site straight after which lets you download some drawn up and saved into pdf files. You had to send your email address and they send you a link to this page http://www.theknittingsite.com/graph.htm. Not sure what will happen if you havent been sent the email but I found the page quite easily by serching for picture knitting paper. The paper is like graph paper but the boxes are longer instead of square.
Will try to get some pics on of the dolls asap.0 -

Hi sian pleasy can I join too? Am loving the christmas threads and this is fantastic for year round gifts too! Please can anyone tell me how to pm someone? I would like to pm rufusdog to ask for the pattern but do not know how. Just had a crafty thought, has anyone tried to paint the sweetie tins that they have had for christmas ie heroes/quality street? I have several tins which are nearly empty and I thought I could re-use them as cake tins etc and decorate but would spray paint work on them?0

Hi sheyo, when you look at rufusdog's post you'll see her name in big blue letters on the left hand side, click on her name and you get a dropdown menu, click the second line down 'send a private message to rufusd!!!2' then you'll have a big box to type in your message. Fill in a title at the top type your message then click the 'submit message' button at the bottom.
Hope it helped.0 -

Well I have uploaded the photos to photobucket but cant get the links to work. I have tried to follow the info in the link earlier posted but nto having much luck. It just says when I paste the code and preview the post that the image has been deleted. Anyone know what might be wrong? The photos are on the website and I have copied and pasted the img code.
EDIT
I think they are doing maintenance on the site so will try again this afternoon.0 -
