Awh Crazychatter what was the scrap store like? is it worth a trip?
Sorry to hear about your homebargains trip! What a nightmare! Which one did you go to?:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
It was called Recreate in Cardiff, it was fab! I'd reccommend it for the 25p silver card alone, but there were lots of pretty ribbons and different types of paper and material scraps. I got metre wide purple glittery sticky backed plastic and some white card 1.5x2 metres! not sure what I'm going to do with it all but such great prices, if you are anywhere nearby pop along! Anyone can join Re-crate for just £1. Some of the other scrapstores are stricter and more expensive to join, you need to run a childrens club for some.
I went to the Cardiff HomeBargains, I wish i'd stopped off at the Newport one as well now, can't really justify the £5 toll to go back again for a while now.0 -
If anyone is doing flower pots or gardening sets for kids, I bought these two pots from Boyes in Gainsborough for only 99p each.
I am giving my 3 1/2 yr old nephew percy with some soil and a packet of mini sunflowers as an Easter present rather than an Easter egg as he will get loads from everyone else.
Saving Bagpuss for my stepsisters Christmas present. Going to try and grow her a plant by then but not sure what to grow.*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -
mini sunflowers is a good idea -I'm doing that for my foster daughter -she loves her garden and I've done a garden hamper for her for her birthday at the end of March.
Iwas going to get some gold covered eggs or chocolates of some sort and pop a packet of sunflower seeds in with it so its a sort of 'pot of gold'Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

That's a lovely idea Mary,
My two lovely male housemates are making themselves scarce tonight so that I can have a girlie party, I'd love to make them a little thank you gift, but not sure what. They both like biscuits and chocolate so I might make a little junk food hamper to share using a vinyl bowl. Do you all think that would be ok? or does anyone have any other suggestions?0 -

crazychatter wrote: »Grrr, Time for a rant, On Saturday I went to Cardiff (from Bristol) to go to the scrap store which was amazing! metre wide silver and gold card for 25p!
Then I went to Homebargains as I wanted to see if i could get any of the fab bargains I hear about, it was quite good but I got annoyed because they only had one set of crimper and scissors left but it was missing two peices, I took it to a sales assistant to ask if i could have it at a discount but the manager said it wasn't allowed to be sold if it had missing peices and took it away from me!! What kind of policy is that?! they will probably throw it away and now I haven't got a crimper big enough for the sour cream containers I've made, or to do the choc bars like Sooblivion. :-(
Sorry rant over!
The scrapstore in Newark on Trent had crimpers in their craft section ...only small ones at £1.38 !:jPobodys Nerfect:j0 -
Buddybonthenet - thought I had by putting a space between them lol, thanks for pointing it out though*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0
