I've come to a standstill again now she grinch.
I've just finished the gifts for Rusty which you saw.
I made these as a thank you for a very kind lady who sent me some lovely cardmaking supplies.
Handbag made from acetate and cardmaking papers
felt keyring
galaxy chocolate
I think I have other ideas for the bag but it's okay having ideas putting it in to practice is another thing entirely. LOL
Hiya - how do you make the wrapping for the chocolate - this would be lovely for my mum on mother's day - have bought her several bars of her favourite choccy! and this looks so lovely & pretty - you are very clever Soblivion!! TIA0 -

cookiedough38, such a thoughtful gift and ever so pretty too, your friend will love it.Hiya - how do you make the wrapping for the chocolate - this would be lovely for my mum on mother's day - have bought her several bars of her favourite choccy! and this looks so lovely & pretty - you are very clever Soblivion!! Hi popkins, If this doesn't make sense do shout up, I'm really happy to help.
I buy the galaxy bars of choc, they have a copper colour foil wrapper under the paper wrapper. I rip the seam of the paper wrapper and then it's only glued in one small place on the foil wrapper, careful peeling will separate the two. I like to keep the foil wrapper on, extra freshness and I haven't had to handle the choc either(I bet other choc bars are the same though.)
Width = around the bar
Length = end to end of bar
I cut a piece of pretty paper the same width as the wrapper I took off.
If you don't have a crimper just cut the paper the same length as the wrapper. If you want to crimp cut the length of the paper(mmm! I'm unsure without actually doing it, but I would say 1 and a half inches bigger on both ends? this should be enough to tape and crimp each end. I can only suggest to use a scrap piece of paper first to make a template and check it fits.
The pretty paper needs to be pretty side face down and the choc needs to lay in the middle of the paper topside down.
Put a piece of double sided tape all the way down the edge of the paper(the edge that had the glue on on the original wrapper)
Peel off the backing of the tape and wrap paper around bar and seal so you have a seam right down the middle of the bar, when you turn the choc the right way up the seam will be on the underside of the choc bar. If you're not using a crimper your finished now just add gift label.
If using a crimper, with the choc bar and wrapper the right side up, run a piece of double sided tape on the inside of the paper bottom edge only of one the ends(only way to describe this is run the tape half of the circumference on the inside of the paper) remove backing off tape and seal, do the same with the other end then just run each end through crimper and add gift label, embellishments, ribbon etc.
I would have done a tutorial but it might be a while and too late for you as I can't have choccy, OH's been banned from and DS is on a health kick. Bringing it in the house without a purpose means it will have to get eaten. LOL0 -
soblivion - that looks brilliant :T

Grrr, Time for a rant, On Saturday I went to Cardiff (from Bristol) to go to the scrap store which was amazing! metre wide silver and gold card for 25p!
Then I went to Homebargains as I wanted to see if i could get any of the fab bargains I hear about, it was quite good but I got annoyed because they only had one set of crimper and scissors left but it was missing two peices, I took it to a sales assistant to ask if i could have it at a discount but the manager said it wasn't allowed to be sold if it had missing peices and took it away from me!! What kind of policy is that?! they will probably throw it away and now I haven't got a crimper big enough for the sour cream containers I've made, or to do the choc bars like Sooblivion. :-(
Sorry rant over!0
