Does anyone have any ideas about my large orchids (see my post on the 15th)? I wondered if the questions it had been missed or if I was on the wrong track.Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -

BuddyBonthenet:
Could use them as a brooch glue them on to felt and add pin?
Or prehaps glue them all or individually on to a belt?
Make a bag ornament or key chain, how sturdy are they?
Not sure other than that0 -

Thanks for your reply. :T
They are quite sturdy, but a bit big/bulky for a key chain or a bag ornament (would stick out too much), but the brooch with felt idea has given me another idea!
I have already made a pin stick brooch from one, but the glue affected the flower (I was trying a new glue thinking it would be stronger, but I think what happened was the fumes from the glue rather than the glue itself discoloured some of the petals. I can sort that out though).
What your 'felt' idea has triggered though is using some pretty and fine co-ordinating fabric behind the flower that might be easier to fit a fastening to...I will give it some more thought. Ta!:TNumpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -
What about attaching to a comb or hairband, adding some feathers and making a fascinator0

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that an orchid is quite deep like a funnel and the back ends in a point, so it is hard to attach something to and still have the flower facing the way you want it too! I will look at how fascinators are made and see if that would work! :T
