  • Not really finished anything yet. Have finished knitting my Mr Bean bear for DS1 birthday in March but he needs sewing together. Maybe this weekend!
Then need to knit another handbag for friend at work, and sew up another one that is finished for another friend. I hate sewing up, I just want to knit x

    Hi all,
Sian I haven't made anything since Tuesday - raffia crochet ornaments, been looking at the various threads and getting inspiration. I feel like doing something totally different than normal.

    How about you?
  • Hi all have cross stitched a country companions pic and made it into a lavender bag using my own lavender, for part of a friends birthday present. I have started making the sour cream containers with mini cadbury cream eggs inside for easter presents.
And generally keeping out of mischief!!

    Hi all,

Paul160 - that sounds like a lovely and very thoughtful present for your friend, your own lavender too!

I love CC but never stitched it, I've got a 3d decoupage picture I made but whenever I tried sewing, I found the colour changes doing me in!

Sour cream containers - I must have missed the thread about those. Good luck with everything.

she grinch - I laughed when I read something on that blog you gave a link to - 'I slobbered all over the book'. I so relate to that. I bet most of us do. Yes, that bag is really nice.

Im knitting my dad a cardigan. I am on the last sleeve so not long to go. Ex MIL has asked for a waistcoat and its her birthday next month so that should coincide well if I can do it.

Got two nice lots of free wool yesterday from two nice ladies on freecycle. Want to make some picture jumpers for the little ones later on so will come in handy.

These fabulous hanging heart pockets are really pretty and could be used infor small storage eg hair scrunchies or for leaving notes for the family or just for decoration http://mollyirwin.typepad.com/mollyirwin/2008/02/oh-happy-day.html

In fact there are lots of simple ideas on this link including crafts you can do with the children http://belladia.typepad.com/crafty_crow/christmas/
    Look around the link .

  • Well I found my mini sewing machine (new, still in the box!) - so that's a step in the right direction! :rotfl:

    Hiya jpwhittle! :)

Am I allowed to post my own website on here? I also do craft fairs to sell my flower jewellery and some of the pieces like the big orchids are an awkward shape to find a nice gift box for. At the moment I use larger good quality velvet bags, but what I'd like to do is make something unique to put the jewellery in that a customer would buy as an extra. My friend has a lot of jewellery from the far east and each piece comes in a little brocade envelope pouch that fastens with a stud, but they look a bit hard for me to do as each one is edged with piping and I'm sure that's beyond my skill level as each pouch is quite small and tricky.

I also have six extra large orchids (photo here) that I need some good ideas about what to use them for. I'd like to do something special (and not too hard!) as they were quite expensive (got them in exchange for something else that was faulty!), but orchids have a point at the back which makes them a bit awkward to work with.

I was thinking of a hair accessory or something, but I'm not sure about the fittings as the flowers don't lie flat.

Any ideas all you clever creative people? :)
    Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...
