  • A lady from my office is leaving for another job (sob). We are doing a collection for her and people are suggesting getting her a book voucher (boring!) as she loves reading. Any ideas of something I can make to give her individually that will go with a book voucher? Ideally I would like to put a hamper together for her with a few little things in but I have to persuade everyone else to let me do it :)

How about cross stitching a book mark to go with the book token.
A new mug for her new job, and a pen pot for her new desk, some tissues as she'll be upset at leaving you all (or maybe crying for joy!)

Here is a really simple an sweet gift box, http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/templates/ig/Heart-Box--Bag-or-Carton/Heart-Carton-.htm
and though it is valentines that immediately springs to mind they would be equally as good for little girls party bags or for someone special and they would be great filled with love hearts

I LOVE the tooth pillow softie - how did they even think of that! :D

Does anyone have any ideas about my large orchids (see my post on the 15th)? I wondered if the questions it had been missed or if I was on the wrong track. :o

I could imaginge them on the lid of an attractive box or on the sides of a stitched plastic canvas box.

Re a pouch for the jewellery. My friend makes lots of bags and pouches all sorts of sizes and shapes in Japanese quilting.

I made a pouch/purse that was exceptionally easy and didn't take long at all and would cost pennies.. I could give you the info if you are interested (pm me).

I had a go at the heart boxes, photos not to clear but I am just learning how to use it! I am more creative with my hands than with technology I'm afraid

I used a sample of wallpaper to make this one and the photo does it no justice at all, it is slightly pearlised and is actually a deep pink!
