Sorry I've only just realised this is a NI forum.
I searched the forums on heating oil and didn't read the full path to where the thread ended up.
At least it seems to have made some people not feel as bad about your prices;)0 -

Hi,
The price seems to be on the up again today. Has it bottomed out do you think? Have I waited too long?
Cheers,

oil price in NI is based on an index called Platts which benchmarks the cost of refined product. Nearly all NI oil distributors buy their fuel based on this pricining index and not the barrel price of oil often quoted in the papers. Since last Friday when Opec announced their supply cuts the oil price has come down slightly which has also been helped by the pound gaining value on the dollar yesterday. Prices should remain as they are or fall slightly. Most of the compnaies are at full capacity so you might be better to hold off for a few weeks with a good chaance that the price will be lower0 -
The winter fuel payments are due out soon, I hope they will drop a bit more before then.Official Norn Iron Club Member No. 119

US cut interest rates and the pound rose strongly against the dollar. :j
This should ensure another fall in prices in a few days. :j0 -
Just to deviate from the thread slightly , has anyone has any trouble ordering fuel lately ?
I ordered oil from Boilerjuice on Sat and I'm stil waiting for it to come . Phoned Carlisle Fuels (where Boilerjuices oil comes from here) and they said there was a national shortage in NI .
And another thing , when I ordered from Boilerjuice the price was £218 for 500 litres but when I went through the ordering process it said other people in my area had ordered and the price was potentially lower . When I got my email confirmation there was no discount . Only at this point did I notice that Carlisle was their supplier , and they had been £215 for 500 last week . So I would have been better ordering frfom Carlisle direct as it would have been cheaper and I may (or may not) have gotten the oil by now .0
