  • hubby told me opec is reducing supply so we ordered from Maxol direct a few days ago 375 I think for 900....chopped up old shed and have been burning it recently (built during the 40's - it was falling down) and neighbour lent us a circular saw!Lots of bags ready to burn. Sister has been burning cuttings from the hedge - wierd burns really sparkly. Gotta drag every litre of this oil out!

Boilerjuice quoting me £208.53 for 500l in Lisburn this evening. Works out at 39.7ppl.

I have a feeling it may reduce slightly more towards the middle of next week, so will gamble on that.

Been checking on line Boiler Juice is coming out cheapest, does anyone know if there is an actual price comparison site for NI, you know where it just gives you a list of the cheapest suppliers for 900L so you can ring round?

We normally get from Carlisle Fuels (Ballynahinch) and have also used Redon (Newtownabbey) both are quite good.

A wee tip, some companies do a cheaper price for Shorts employees, a relative used to work for Shorts and they found out every day who was the cheapest supplier, when I needed oil she would let me know who was cheapest then I'd ring up and ask for their price for Shorts employees, they never seemed to check did I actually work for Shorts but I always got the cheaper price, usually averaged about £20 off.

  • I'm in North East Scotland.

Just phoned 4 firms and the cheapest price for 900 ltrs inc VAT is £403.14 42.66p/l)

Is the plunge in sterling wiping out the dollar per barrel price drops or has the recent price drops not filtered through yet?

So far this morning sterling has dropped another 4% against the dollar. Does this mean even higher prices to come?

That's a good bit more expensive than here (NI).
I hope the 'why do we always pay more' whingers take note.
