  • Just a bit of info. If you go to the Vodafone website and look for the link to their eForums they are usually really good. They seem to have Admin staff online 24/7 who usually pick up on anyone having major problems such as yourself. They'll send you an email and ask you for security details so they can look into your account and see what's been going on and usually sort it all out. I've seen many happy VF eForum members sorted out like that. Me included!

    Good Luck.

So guess what - no phone call. I will be phoning today to see if I can get any info out of them. I'm guessing I'll be stuck with my broken phone till I cancel my contract. I am getting more and more tempted to stop my direct debits.

Phoned them - they apparently had no record of agreeing to send me a new phone! Spoke to a manager which was much more useful and was told I'd get a call back. They called back 20 mins later saying they would send me a new C902 on Tuesday and even gave me a delivery slot of 8am-10am. It's a great result in the end I'm just so annoyed I've had to go through so much to get there.

  • I had a relationship with Vodafone from end of Jan 08 - July 08

Managed to get out of an 18 month contract, won't go into detail. Nightmare

Left Orange in January 08 as call centres wee being shipped overseas. Thought VF would be better as they had UK only call centres.
Orange are now shipping their call centres back to the UK, starting with contracts

Orange have upped their game. I notice some of you have had hassles with phone faults.
    I have had 3 phones (N95 8Gb) in 3 months with orange
This is how it goes with orange now-
Call up, go through diagnostics with CSR on phone
    Phone diagnosed as faulty
Reply "Your phone will be replaced, when do you want your phone delivered?"

They offer 3 delivery windows next day (or same day if you call before 9.15am). Thw windows are 9am-1pm; 1pm-6pm; 6pm-10pm

All you remove is the battery, sim and back cover.

I called at 5.25 pm on a SATURDAY and a new phone arrived at 9.45am on the SUNDAY by courier.

The courier checks the phone IMEI with a barcode scanner (to check you are returning the correct phone) and leaves.

Mentioned this to VF when I had issues. The answer 'We used to do that, but don't any more as it cost too much'

Orange do this free for business contracts, but it costs £6 per month for non business contracts.

ps I do not work for orange :D , but give credit where credit is due
    baldly going on...

That does sound like good service from orange wish i never left them now, but my problem was consistent with the handset and i was looking for a replacement of a different make and model this is why i had all the problems, vodafone were more tahn keen to just send me a replacement of the same handset but my thoughts are that if you get a replacement of the same hand set and it develops the same fault why would any normal person want to replace it with with that same model. Also you say it cost £6 a month for that service from orange i know this is not expensive but i dont think you should need to pay extra for a service that the company should provide anyway.
But anyway aslong as everyboday has there problems sorted its good.

Chaosx did you receive your new phone

Well they said it would be delivered Tuesday between 8 and 10. Didn't arrive so I phoned up in the evening and was told that the manager wasn't there so they would phone me back Wednesday at 6.30pm. They did phone back and told me that it had been signed for by my mum at 10.30 Wednesday morning (today). Just got to my mum's and she has no phone and hasn't taken any deliveries. Now I can't get through to Vodafone as apparently they are closed! Anything else happens I will be cancelling my direct debit. Had no reply from my email either.
  • it costs £6 per month for the insurance. The phone will be repaired for free under warranty for the first 12 months. The insurace covers accidental damage also.

In my previous (non business) contract I had a different model after 3 repairs (same or similar fault). I could pick any phone up to the value of the one I had or a better one and pay the difference- prices on their website
