So when an item is frozen, and it says do not re-freeze, why is that then? Is it because it isn't recommended?

    Couple of reasons for this.

-First off, (and also probably the main reason) is because after the food defrosts it looses quality, looses the original shape and form and then most probably re-freezes in one big lump. For example you defrost a bag of chips, it all sinks in together and piles up, then becomes almost mash if you get my drift.

-Second, yes it increases the risk of food poisoning. After thawing the bacteria starts to grow, (freezing doesn't kill bacteria it only slows it, puts it to sleep if you will) and so the products usability rapidly decreases. If you defrost, re-freeze, defrost. re-freeze it can become hard to keep to the products use by date. So therefore it is best practice to only freeze once. Bear in mind if a product need using within 3 days for example, then it might take 1 day to defrost, and another day to re-freeze.

You can't get food poisoning simply from a product being de-frosted and then refrozen.

Back on topic, I can understand being annoyed at having de-frosted food delivered. But I feel demanding compensation is a little too far, after they replaced the products. I think it's fair game. :rotfl:

Kerry Katona was enough to put me off shopping at Iceland. Whoever decided to give her the job should be sacked too.

As for you being taxed on your voucher, that's not Iceland's fault that's our wonderful Revenue and Customs people.

In reply .no Im not ashamed about asking for compensation not enough people
    complain in this country.

It is right and proper that you have complained, since this helps the company to improve its services and correct problems.

As to compensation - why do you feel you should have any. This compensation culture originated in America and has now infected our society so much it has materially increased the cost of many things from insurance to cosumer goods all because of the avarice of a sizeable minority.
