Mean Iceland

I complained to Iceland regarding food that was delivered defrosted. After much messing about my order was replaced. Anyway I contacted Icelands head office and was emailed an apology. Not happy with this I emailed them back and asked for some sort of compensation. This morning I received a apology through the post and a five pound voucher.
The fact that the van carrying the food was found to be faulty and Iceland did not contact the customer and inform them of this makes my blood boil. I dont think a paltry five pounds goes far enough when you consider the potential for food posioning .

Why are you complaining? You can buy a whole freezer full of stuff for a fiver in Iceland!:rotfl:
Sorry I couldn't resist.:o
At least you got something but I know what you mean sometimes a little is almost worse that nothing.0 -
Yes I know what you mean . Imagine what Kerry Katona can buy with the money they paid her bet she got more than a bloody fiver.
Well I suppose I should be gratefull in this economic climate she says under her breath.lol.0 -
I don't understand what more you want or could get? You had your original order replaced, you received two apologies and a voucher. Surely your compensation would be the shopping replaced and the voucher.0

Give over, stop begging.0

You were never going to be poisoned by it because you knew it was defrosted and they replaced it. Are you not embarrassed that you asked them for compensation?0

isnt Iceland the new !!!!!! shop?
people deny ever going in, and avoid eye contact with anyone in case a neighbour / work colleague is also there..
so i'm told.. lolLong time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
In reply .no Im not ashamed about asking for compensation not enough people
complain in this country, yes there was potential for food poisoning as my teenage son was about to put them in the freezer as I had been to a school meeting, The order was replaced only after two phone calls and not till the next evening,
If more people insisted on good customer service we may not need to come on this board.0 -
You can't claim for what potentially could have happened, only what really happened.
If you claim for things that potentially could have happened, it gets into the realms of stupidity. The Iceland van potentially could have lost control and crashed through the front of your house, and so on!Here I go again on my own....0 -
Maybe £5 is a little paltry in your eyes OP but this is Iceland and not Waitrose!0
