Waitrose is no better ! my turkey at christmas was off and I was only given the cost of the item back in vouchers and she was not happy about doing that .So you should be pleased with your five pounds.
Still have the vouchers ,cant face shopping in their yet ,can still smell the turkey0 -
In reply .no Im not ashamed about asking for compensation not enough people complain in this country
Oh PLEASE!! There is a BIG difference between complaining and receiving compensation, so don't confuse the two.
Complaining is what I and many people do when a service received is substandard.
Claiming compensation for what might have but didn't happen is pathetic.
Compensation is what a soldier should get who has had his legs blown off by a landmine, or a child who is brain damaged due to a mistake made by a hospital at birth.
Compensation is NOT for an already replaced bag of defrosted food that might (but probably wouldn't) give you food poisoning.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What food poisoning were you at risk of then? You dont get food poisoning from defrosted food.I complained to Iceland regarding food that was delivered defrosted. After much messing about my order was replaced. Anyway I contacted Icelands head office and was emailed an apology. Not happy with this I emailed them back and asked for some sort of compensation. This morning I received a apology through the post and a five pound voucher.
The fact that the van carrying the food was found to be faulty and Iceland did not contact the customer and inform them of this makes my blood boil. I dont think a paltry five pounds goes far enough when you consider the potential for food posioning .
Your order was replaced....you should be happy with that instead of demanding compensation! You know, for every person who does that...products rise in price and these companies cannot swallow it forever. It all contributes to the massively high prices we are paying today!
By the way....there is a difference between making complaint and demanding compensation.0 -
I think, I hear Dave Brooker logging in....:rotfl:
Maybe the OP would like to give us a tangible breakdown of her financial loss, in order to substantiate this "Paltry" compensation. My farts hospitalize small children

Right lets relax. Firstly if a company gives bad service I have a right to complain Secondly If the company had replaced my goods and said sorry when it happened I would not have felt the need to ask for compensation remember I paid for a service that I did get.
If little Tinker thinks that getting a fiver compensation has a major impact on food prices she needs a rain check. Lets face it going by the comments Iv received it would only be a fraction of people they give anything to.
Pinkshoes why are you getting so upset by the word compensation its not just used for the unfortunate who you so graciously mention. Calm down dear.
Well just to let you know I bought a really nice piece of pork and my family will enjoy every bit of it.0 -

people deny ever going in, and avoid eye contact with anyone in case a neighbour / work colleague is also there..
so i'm told.. lol
No that's Farm Foods.
Having said that, Farm Foods sell 2 litre bottles of milk for £1. Whereas the milkman was charging £1.46 for the same size bottle when we cancelled him a few months back.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,797.770 -

But the company didn't give you that bad a service did they? They replaced the goods and gave you a voucher albeit not on the spot when the problem occurred which I think is what you expected? If the van was found to be faulty then they may not have discovered this until the driver was making his drops as I can hardly see that a faulty van that would cause food to defrost would have been allowed out in the first place. That would explain why they didn't inform you.
The key to good customer service is putting a problem right which from what you have said, Iceland eventually did.
As for the comments about the compensation and price impact, where do you think this money comes from? The company have to recoup their losses from somewhere and it is inevitable that this will be from the customer. Sadly we do seem to be moving towards a compensation culture and the more people claim, the more the costs will be passed onto the consumer.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your pork.0 -
