Hi again, just to let you know that a cheque for £591.19 arrived this morning. I filled the form and sent it off the first week in January so it's been a quick process.:j

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to this website for informing me of this.
After reading about this on here, I sent my form off back in early December and yesterday, out of the blue, got a cheque dropped through the door for £1179!!
    WHAT A RESULT.
As you can imagine, I'm well chuffed to say the least!!! It has really helped me out financially, simply fantastic.
Hope everyone else gets theirs - just be patient, clearly they're working on them!

(And to think I would have lost out on this money otherwise, shocking really, they kept this very quiet at the time!)

  • Hi all
I have received a letter from HM telling me that the child tax relief was already given against the 2002-03 income but two things
1 - i do not have the tax code H or T nor 702H as advised on their website
2 - when i phoned up before sending my forms in, they confirmed i had not received it
What can i do to check this?

You or your partner (whoever was the highest earner), may have had refund after the tax year ended, rather than in-year through your tax code.

You can check this by referring to documents which you should have kept, or contact your tax office and ask how and when the allowance was given.

When you initially called them to ask if you had the allowance, the adviser may have only checked your tax code for that year, rather than checking if you had it by other means.
  • posted mine last week in January was going to ring Tax office but have decided to wait and hopefully get a nice surprise on my doorstep if I get it great .... if I don't its money I never had so won't be a miss ....
