This is my first post and also my first attempt at r&r.

    Bought a Motorola V171 charged £49.97. Picked up a leaflet saying £39.97.
Customer Service made a few phone calls and offered me £10. I pointed out the sign behind her and she said she could only offer me what she had been told, but could call a manager.
Manager said phone leaflets were wrong and the refund policy was down to Manager Discretion. He would accept the leaflet price and give me £10.

I was so embarrassed by this time, I said it was a matter of principle and I would just leave the phone. got a refund but NO phone.
  • Not surprised with problems re v171s Shazbig and others - it is a right mess. I am sorry Tesco CS in store is seriously lousy from v171s that not only did you really mess this one up ... but you haven't the guts to come clean and face up to the consequences with any measure of putting things right!

Saw a customer get conned & complain was conned out of R&R today at my local (staff claimed not in stock AFTER being sold AND overcharged!) - even security staff were shocked by the discrepencies in store.

Claimed some more wine myself with no problems though - just presented the valentines day leaflet yet again. How is this any different?

Why can't you just face the music? - after all, it is you that has blown your own trumpet here with regard to v171s and your own instore adverts.

have you got your original till receipt, refund receipt and leaflet? if so, photocopy each, and draft up a letter to both trading standards for your local area and tesco head office. the policy is not down to manager discretion, he/she has no authority over policies implemented by the 'powers that be'.

you have every right to complain.

    hope that helps.

    Hi all

    Question?
if a SEL price is higher than the scan price, can I still get R&R?

    Hi all

Opinions wanted please. Tonight i was overcharged on the mobbie, CS got Dept Manager, whom was extremely unpleasant. Basically he said i was 'known within the store' that he believed i was purposely looking for misprices and he then accusd m of trying to 'defraud' tesco's. This was in front of a queue of other customers. I was angry/upset/embarrassed all at once. I did try and stand me ground. I stated quite truthfully that i am fed up being continually overcharged, that i am looking forward to the day they get their act together and i am not overcharged. I also told him it was completely out of order accusing be of defrauding. I asked for a refund, he refused and offered me £10. At this point i asked for the store manager as i was getting very angry (the defrauding bit was getting to me) He disappeared for 20 mins, then returned and said store manager had gone. Again he offered me £10, I again said i wanted refund, he said no, and i said i hadn't even left store and had 28 days to get refund. He then agreed i could have one, I got very annoyed and said i asked for this 20 mins ago!! Took his and managers name and have logged a complaint with Dundee.

I feel very disturbed by all this, and sort of scanky, like i have robbed a bank or something? I think my options are to either start shopping in Sainsbury, or to continue shopping at Tesco and let them overcharge me, or maybe i could send packaging and photocpy of every overcharge to Dundee and let them sort it? I like the last idea best, what do you guys reckon?

    Shaz

You feel "scancky"? What is this "scanky" feeling then?

Is it the feeling that you didn't get to put one over the Big T and get something for nothing? I think Tesco would be more than happy if you bugged off to Sainsburys.

If I worked at Tesco i'd be happy to tell you where to go. This isn't genuine money saving, Tesco's refund policy is rather good. Watch your purchases at Morrisons - especially the Safeway conversions. They have a habit of leaving old price promotions and charging you the new price. No refunds and free goods there! Been caught a few times and only noticed at home - far too late then unless you can be arsed to go back and argue for a few pennies. You won't get a refund that's for sure.

Is it just me or is this a bit of a greedy, grasping depressing thread

Back to a lighter note, and not strictly R&R, but after reading Maltesers Ice Cream was scanning at 10p a tub, I was lucky enough to find a freezer with about 8 or 9 tubs still in it. There was nothing to indicate the price reduction, so off I went to the scanner with one tub to double check the price. It scanned at 10p, so I went back to the freezer to get some more........

......only to find the freezer shelf empty, and just in time to catch a glimpse of a lady walking down the aisle with a basket full of Malterser Ice Cream tubs!!!! (MK at Kingston yesterday afternoon)

As there was nothing to tell you the price, my guess is either she had already bought some, or it was someone off here..... :o
