Toay I got The Streets CD, Razorlight and 4 packs of Mars Bars.

At the CS Desk the Girl there tried to give me the difference back, I told her that the BIG poster behind her said that I should get all my money back for the items which I had been overchared for, she then said that the policy has now changed and only applies if you have already been and put the shopping in your car. I laughed and said that the Poster didn't mention that. She then decided to let me have all the money back ;) Next time though I will put the shopping in the car and then go to the CS Desk ;)

Very good weekend for me as I got a PS2 Game yesterday too! (from a different Tesco store)

Looking forward to seeing tomorrows chart poster :p

I think that if Tesco stop this policy then we will have scored :D I know this sounds peculiar but think of it this way, thousands of people read MSE, surely it has come to their attention that Tesco are determined to screw as much money and business out of the population as is humanly possible. People will now know there is no way of knowing whether the price you have paid is the right one and if it is wrong there is no way of getting your money back.

Hence a great deal of people no longer shopping at Tesco, tesco share prices dropping like a brick, All Tesco management panicking and finally learning that the consumer is king and not them. They are not the only supermarket, not the only shop in town. It's about time we voted with our feet and our purses and showed them where their huge profits are coming from.

I have to be honest here, there are nearly 74000 members registered on MSE, of which, how many actually read this thread?

Now balance that against the 50+ thousand that shop in the store that i work in and multiply that by 100 extra stores and then add on the customers that shop in the standard superstores and then other 600 stores on top of that and you begin to realise that yes, MSE can have a small effect on a part of Tesco business, but realistically can a huge difference be made by such a relatively small amount of people?

Tesco does realise that the customer is king, though this is not reflected by certain customer service practices....

If the manager of the store at Northampton spent more time sorting out his store than "breaking the law" he would not have anyone come back for an R & R!
How can trays of valentines mugs be put on the shelf with a printed cardboard tray stating 94p and the SEL states 97p!
Some Cd's have been wrong for weeks!
The XBox posters have been wrong for well over a week. I got 5 games today at over £30. The Duty Manager has tried to wriggle out of the refund but he won't win! I "hold" the games until I contact HO tomorrow!

Pleas elet me know how you get on with this as i will be calling HO tomorrow too.
One store gave me RR on a PS2 game but the other would only give me the £10 difference. I declined this and kept the game for now.

Any tips for when i call please?
TESCO R&R was so much fun!.. Over a grand made!

Yes, I think so because we're not just talking about registered members and regular posters here but all the lurkers and casual readers who just come here for information. Also with the popularity of "Shopped" and the desire of people for 'real food' that hopefully the reign of the huge conglomerates is slowly coming to an end.

    Last nights finds:

    Fresh beef topside/toprump/silverside joints.
    Pack 6.48/kg and scans 6.48/kg
Large yellow SEL "SPECIAL BUY - 5.29/kg"

    Fresh British rump steak,
    Pack 7.98/kg, scans 7.98/kg
Large yellow SEL "SPECIAL BUY - 6.98/kg"

P.S. Vaseline Dermablend - a manager wriggled out of R+R because the OH POS poster with misprice didnt show SIZE of bottle offer price referred to - claimed they were out of stock on the relevant product.

    Clipboard2,
Go back and get your refund on the Vaseline Dermacare as you were overcharged. I nearly bought the bigger bottles as they are stupid enough to print a poster without stating the applicable size! I thought this would be pushing my luck though!

    Today's refunds:
    First store:
Medal of Honour European Assault PS2 - Poster "under £30" charged £39.99

    Second store:
    Valentine mugs: 2 types - Packaging 94p SEL & charged 97p

Razorlight CD - Up all night - Poster and some stickers £4.97
    Duran Duran - Decade - Poster £4.97
Mc Fly - Room on the 3rd floor - Poster £4.97
    All SEL's and charged £5.97

Xbox games: Poster states under £30
    From Russia with Love 007 - SEL/charged £32.97
    50 cent Bulletproof - SEL/charged £32.97
    Half Life 2 - SEL/charged £32.97
Medal of Honour European Assault - SEL/charged £39.99
    Forza Motorsport - SEL/charged £32.97

Harry Potter game is under £30 but SEL states £32.97!

Duty manager refused XBox game refunds but I will ring HO (0800-505555) tomorrow as I know he doesn't have a leg to stand on! He stated that there are some games under £30 and the poster was just stating a list!
The fact that the other store admitted it was an error gives me extra ammo!
It was more to do with the fact there were 5 games!

    Jon,
I will ring them and calmly and clearly let them know that I have been overcharged and the Duty manager (name known) refused a refund under their policy!
I am away for the week so I will try and get a message to you to let you know how I get on!

Excuse my thickness with the following question. Can someone explain how r+r works. I take it that if the sel is more expensive than the pack price and you are charged the sel, you're a winner (or vice versa). But if you are charged the pack price (cheaper) there's no r+r,despite there being a price difference.
    A la Blueberries (pack price £1.49, sel £1.48, I was charged £1.48).

    Have I got it right?

No. You've been charged at the lower of the advertised prices, which is correct. If you'd been charged £1.49, you could legitimately argue that you had been overcharged.

    edit:

re-reading your post, I think you've about got it. If you are not charged the lowest price advertised somewhere for that product (be it SEL, pack, poster etc) then you've been overcharged and are due R+R.
