I was thinking about how long I was kept standing at cs last night while they recorded details from the receipt - this was after the long wait while she twice went checking the sels (which happened to be at the far end of the store) - what is the longest that anyone has been kept waiting? (I was a good 30 minutes last night from paying to getting in the car.) Could I have requested that they photocopy the receipt to then take their time over it?

Also, when I got home the ice-cream was turning soft - we are about 20 mins drive away - and next time I am going to also say that they need to replace the frozen items if such a long wait or I want a refund on those too. Has any-one done this either?

Just a quick question, when it comes to buying meats, etc - if the SEL is lower than the price/kg on the pack, can I still get an R+R even if the price at the till is the same as the one on the pack?

eg: lamb chops SEL 5.99/kg and pack price 6.99/kg rings up as 6.99/kg so the till is the same as the total price on the package.

According to their CS sign, "if things don't add up...." they refer to mistakes on the SEL OR the price on the package. Could Tescos argue that the pack price is right so you knew what you were paying?

    Dude

Yes you can - I've been eating 'free' sunday roasts for months!

You might have to explain to the CS that you have been overcharged by the SEL (not the price on the pack) - the key phrase is "price on the item OR shelf label" - the shelf label is clearly wrong.

So go and get that lamb fella!

I can't see it being back up at £398 again, as it's a discontinued product!

Could be wrong though  !!!

Hubby bought a CD last night. SeEL £5.97, stickered at £4.97, but scanned at £5.97.

Took it to checkout, where a 20% discount for a certain range of CDs was applied, so he was charged only £4.77.

Question is, was he overcharged? On the basis that he was charged less than both the sticker and SEL, he wasn't, but the discount should have applied to the lower price of course.

Obviously, he can't recall if there was a poster up mentioned the 20% discount, otherwise it would have been clear that he WAS overcharged. If there was no poster (which we are going to check out later on), was he still overcharged, on the basis that the discount applied to a range of CDs and it should have applied to the lower (sticker) price on this one?

    TIA

They were packed on 3 shelves, with 2 of them having an SEL £69.92. The top shelf had a SEL of £59.92.
Scanned at £69.92 nice R&R thank you all posters
What if in 6 weeks time it would not work as it had developed a fault. If I took it back and this was no longer a stock item, would I get a full refund of £69.92?
    Don't waste your words I don't need,
    Anything from you.
    I don't care where you've been or,
    What you plan to do.

Got Hard Fi album and the Editors albums, showed on poster at 6.97 and 7.97 scanned at 8.97 each, could have had about a dozen albums but thought not to raise suspision, guy did my r & r straightaway didnt need to mention the policy.

I also looked on the SEL barcodes that the last numbers bar the two numbers after the slash correspond to the bar code of the produt. So I knew these would scan at teh higher price.

Probably most people know this but good way to gain the confidence to buy it knwoing it is full price and you'll get a R & R

can you give us an example i dont know what you mean  please
if you appreciate this then a thank you would be appreciated :T
