IMHO using a clubcard on an expensive R+R is fine. BUT if every week you pick up 2 CDs and get them R+Red, then the refund history on your clubcard will look a little odd.
All in moderation! Bottom line if it looks like you are regularly abusing the policy, someone may notice. If you can happily (and with a clear conscience) justify your purchase / R+R pattern then fine.

I need to find a store thats not on the ball!
Do they have the right to refuse R+R if i go in and just pick up a few of the mispriced items? i.e a sony system + Xbox + few games + dyson?
Can they refuse R+R on the grounds that im playing the system?
Perhaps!
I would suspect that the store may be forced to honour the R+R if HO get involved, but HO have been known to side with the store if it clear you are a "serial offender".
However if the store manager feels you are taking advantage of the policy it is quite likely that he may ask you not to set foot in his store ever again. Not a problem if it's a store 50 miles away you've never visited before. But could be an issue if it's the only supermarket near you.
If I wanted to hit a store for a large number of R+Rs I'd be inclined to buy a bit at a time, preferably in partnership with someone else. Pay cash, don't leave a paper trail and try and stagger the visits so that you get a different CS each time.

Checked my local Extra Tesco for Dysons and they had one DC07 on display with a SEL of £199.99 (not the £179 or £249 expected)!
Is there more than one version of the DC07 out there, or does my local Tesco just have a very old SEL on display?

is it true that if you get an r&r the item is no longer covered by a guarentee, ie when getting my dyson the manager said well you cant bring it back if its faulty, not taking the mick but surely as i purchased this item and through tesco mistake not mine, i was overcharged(cough)my items should be covered??
its the dco7 allergy that i got 179.99...charged 249.99:dance: " i wanna be the minority! " :dance:0 -
Hi all. Been watching for a few weeks and decided to got in on some action.
I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere: on the Tesco R&R thingy, how does their price system work ? Are all Tesco's linked to a central database and they ALL scan the same price, or is each store different ?
Can you check the prices online and that's the same as you'll be charged in store ?
I just don't fancy buying a load of stuff trying to get some R&R action only to have got it drastically wrong.
Is there a way you can confidently check the price before commiting your cash ?
Thanks. Keep up the good work folks. If I find any bargains (anywhere) I'll be sure to let you all know.

When I got me digi camera a few weeks ago it was writen on the recipt that the warrenty still stands.
most of the time if the store refuses yu can go direct to the manufacturer anyway.0 -
........
it's the DC07 ALLERGY
No, every store can have different pricing - its called supply and demand
and YES, the retailer is obliged to provide 12 months warranty from the date of purchase for NEW electrical items within the uk,
tesco may not handle the warranty directly and pass you to the manufacturer, BUT, the item will still be in warranty regardless of R+R or notmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

The manager is wrong. Your statutory rights are not affected - says so on the policy. This means if it is faulty/develops a fault within the warranty period you are entitled to a repair/replacement.0 -
When we got an R&R on a TV, the manager kept the receipt, told us the warranty was not applicable. He walked with us to the door incase security stopped us and we no longer had the receipt to show him.0

Use an in-store Price Checker Scanner.

Good hunting,
