Did he get them from the Reading (Kings Meadow) branch? If so, was there any hassle in getting a refund?

Yep he got 2 there, hassle from CS initially - they gave some rubbish about having to buy air time to get the £10 off (!?), but then IT counter staff were fine.

Incidentally he picked up another two in Slough so 6 in total!!

On another note....unlocking - from what I can gather from the Mobile board you cant unlock Motorola phones with a code - it has to be done with a cable or clip in a phone shop or by a market trader type bloke.

But surely with this boards readership accelerating fast in pyramid fashion there will be a time when T does actually do something about this.

Hi i went to prescot for this and after a bit of arguing with cutomer service they decided to refund for me.

manager seemed not to know the policy on r&r i just kept pointing out the sign behind her. And she was acting dumb on this.

You could try prescot as they have loads of them in. and thye have loads of the leaflets they on the 5 or 6th till along from where you come in.

    good luck

Will any store that has the V171 in stock(cant be many) accept the leaflet,or must the leaflet have come from that store. As it seems many stores have taken the leaflets off the shelves, if the cs ask "did you get the leaflet from here" if you were to answer "no" could they refuse r&r on those grounds?.

If you want to talk about R&R or the phone issue or whatever then go for it. Just don't let yourself get baited by certain people ;)

I agree the scanners should be fied but lloking at the posts on this site it appears that MR T is switching them off, they are not being switched off deliberatley, things do get broken. Depeneding on what sort of customer you are depends and the way you treat and speak to me. Some customers are real s
and come in for an arguement full stop, I will not tolerate being spoken to like o piece of dirt, and will tel the person that I am terminating the converstaion if they do not stop shouting swearing pointing thier fingers in my face etc etc etc. Treat people how you wish to be trwated and spoken to and everything will be fine. I do not come to work daily to do a bad job and upset people

Do potential Tesco employees have to take a spelling test or did you just get lucky?

Sorry Chocky but i find this post in extremely bad taste,i have a nephew who has dyslexia. Also i am not for one minute suggesting the poster to which you were referring suffers with this illness.
  • I was about to say that!! I do find that the posts sometimes get a bit too personal and some people may or may not feel slightly victimised. Instead of taking the mick, try and be a bit more understanding and get past your small-mindedness!!!

I have the same dilemma...made all the worse because I'm one of the oft vilified Managers _pale_

Still, its always an interesting read ;). Interesting point a couple of posts back about other retailers policies - what do Asda, Sainsburys etc do with overcharges? I assume they do not have anything similar to R & R?
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • ASDA offer R & R and a two pound voucher as a gesture of goodwill. This was the case just before christmas when I worked there on the checkouts anyway!!!

I have heard that a lot of customer services people tell people they are only entitled to the two pound voucher though!!!

    Hope that helps!!!
