But its not an issue for Tesco really. The % of their shoppers that even know about R+R is probably very insignificant. And of those people that do know, I bet its only another tiny % that actively look to use it.

The effect of a shopper deciding to go elswehere is similar to the effect of you pulling your finger out of a bowl of water (do it and see how quickly the water replaces the gap where your finger was). For every one that goes elswhere there are still millions of people who will still pour their £££ into Tesco.

And that is before we consider that, in terms of profit, the UK is one of Tesco's smallest markets. Tesco use their massive profits from elswhere to bankrole their domination of the UK market. Are Tesco worried that compulsive R+R's are getting upset of going elswhere? nah

Would you really go to Sainsbury's? Nah... you love the R+R chase too much :rotfl:

Yep...Its all these Msers are after. Its not the value of the goods. They dont get eaten or used. You are right, Its the thrill of the chase and I love it. Like when ones courting, always wanting that bit more!!

i love the chase, but i love the value, range and quality just as much. we have to remember that they're still the best in the market for that.
Monthly Food Budget: out of the window

Hooray! OH got 2 motorola's...just saying today how he needed a new phone too.
We have moved from the South where there were 3 tesco extra's within a few miles to a place where we have 1...and it's not even an extra. were getting withdrawal symptomns but he had to go back on business. Nice revisiting pressie for old times sake!

Did he get them from the Reading (Kings Meadow) branch? If so, was there any hassle in getting a refund?

Does anyone know the unlocking codes for a Tesco V171 mobile - don't want to use their sim, prefer another company!!

My son told me you have to ring your old mobile provider and request a transfer pack. they than transfer your number to your new network. Havent done it yet but when I rang T mobile there is a link that lets you transfer your number to an outside network. I think you can also get phones unlocked but dont know the cost

It will make shopping at T's a dreary drudge when all this is over. Yes I'll still be there and totally agree with freshness of goods and staff too. Wasnt until T starting making feuds that all became "lets get em". In the past i have had many shopping trips to t's armed with only a list from my wife. T's assistants were only too happy to do the weeks shopp with me and find everything on the list. Maybe those days will return if I dont get banned beforehand!!
As I have said before T is destroying his business.

Might put it on the CV under other interests. :rotfl:

    Other Interests

    ....... Tescos R&Ring

Wonder if we could get a new word or two in the Oxford English dictionary.

R&Ring .. to go round Tescos stores in order to obtain loads of goods for free, with full legality, and really wind store managers and their assistants up, when they inevitably mess you about. :kisses3:

R&Rer .. a person who goes with intent on stitching-up a slack multi-billion pound company, for its lack of pricing integrity, and fundamental lack of adherance to it's legal obligations.
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

My first post - please be gentle with me!!!
Looked for Motorola phone today but could not find leaflets. Queued up to pay for shopping and would you believe it there was a crumpled leaflet on the floor so quick dash back up the isle to grab a phone! CS were being awkward so called for manager - manager offered me the £10 difference but after quoting policy to him and asking him to ring head office do you know what he said? "I don't want you to have to wait around any longer than you have to, please go to the cafe and a complimentary coffee and drinks for the children whilst I get this sorted" !!!!! Is this the nicest Tesco Manager EVER or what! Anyway, he came back after a while saying yes I could have a refund and to go back to CS when I was ready.
Definate brownie points to this Tescos in South Oxfordshire for their customer service!!

My local is every bit as good, CS & staff there are wonderful always polite and friendly, and they have 2 young managers who really know the meaning of customer service. So hats off to Haslingdon.
  • My local (St Helens) refused R&R on Motorola. Said it was a head office issue, not the store. Both scanners are "Out of Order" as well. Will phone CS Friday. :iloveyou:

Hi i went to prescot for this and after a bit of arguing with cutomer service they decided to refund for me.

manager seemed not to know the policy on r&r i just kept pointing out the sign behind her. And she was acting dumb on this.

You could try prescot as they have loads of them in. and thye have loads of the leaflets they on the 5 or 6th till along from where you come in.

    good luck
