we have to stand firm comrades , when they try and not do the price policy thingy stand firm and quote your rights , they know the score they made the rules after all
  • I can't believe they have yet again messed up the mobile phones after the fiasco they had back in November when every man and his dog got a warehouse full of R&R phones (spend £40 get £20 off mobile). It is sheer and total incompetence. If the guy in charge of pricing integrity reported to me I'd have his balls for breakfast on toast, with a glass of value orange juice !!
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D
  • Watford Extra have lots of the Motorola v171's and hundreds of leaflets by each till. Sadly I can't bring myself to lie outright and SA asked me if the price was OK. I queried it, so she helpfully(!) voided it and called a manager. I made my excuses and went to claim R and R on Nintendo DS Project Rub, stickered 14.97 (Everyday low price apparently!!) but scanning through at £29.97.

Manager did say the phone should be £49.97 but he could take £10 off as a favour - lol

you should look at tesco.com/customerservice and check out their policy, then go back to the store to suggest that the manager does the same!

I agree. A lot of pricing errors have been down to staff putting out the wrong label, forgetting to take a sign down etc.. but this is in a different league. You would think someone would check before the leaflets were put out.

On a different note I have been reading about how much money Martin donates from this site to charity and its impressive. maybe those who make a tidy sum on ebay through info gleaned from this site could think about donating a small percentage, say just 5% to charity? :)

    What leaflet&wine is this?.

Sorry Jambo, I no longer have the leaflet, it came to me all by itself, honest! well okay, It was posted through my door but alas after having my filll with these wines (I don't really drink but wanted to thank a dozen or so people MSE style including my neighbour who found some of my pound notes dropped on my doorstep), I passed the leaflet on to someone else but they weren't up to scratch and tesco CS managed to successfully get their mits on it instead else the offer is on in every single tesco store around the country charging a penny extra on Laroche rose wine until March - 1 to Tesco this time instead of me.

In defence of the staff that put the leaflets out, it is expected that when leaflets such as these are delivered, the information on them is correct and shouldnt need checking.....however, i'm sure that the stores may learn a lesson from this incident!

They didn't from the last indicident (spend £40 get £20 off mobiles), or the weekly CD chart mess-ups, or the hundreds of other similar incidents, what makes you think that things will be different this time !! The only thing that would sort this issue out is a wholescale systems and processes sort-out, that would also include a number of dead-beats, who can't do the job they are employed to perform.

I am not talking about the guy putting up the leaflets but the marketing morons who weekly/daily/hourly/monthly put pressure on the pricing system by a continual stream of re-occuring 'offers', for example, chicken drumsticks, turkey steaks, parmesan cheese, etc, CDs and DVDs which go up and down like a yo-yo, however the same low priced offer is that of 3 weeks earlier, they just raise the price in the the meantime to get a headline.

so where do you suppose the funding of the wholescale systems and processes overhaul comes from? What precisely would you do with the "dead beats" and "morons"....I would love for you to sit in an office with one of these people that you so readily criticise and do their job for a little while...but i suppose that you with your fancy phrases and the little quotes that you so often like to use are above that....
