Not much in the way of housework flying this afternoon. I have finished my file of important information though. While doing this I realised my mortgage finishes next January.

Have also made a bolognese for tea and some left to freeze.

Jennybee Congratulations on the birth of your son.
  • Thanks everyone :) I'm feeling fine actually! I think I've got away with it quite lightly! Had a bit of back ache on Monday night, went to bed and woke up with it at about 2.15am, had a bath, took a couple of paracetamol and only actually got into hospital at 4.45am! By which time all hell had broken loose and it was starting to hurt quite a bit!! 2 hours later with a little gas and air, there he was! Apparently the official time I was in labour was just over 4 hours :) OH has been told to take an evening course in midwifery if we're going to have a second one because he might not get the chance to get me to the hospital!!

Carol22 it's an OU course but you have me thinking now, I wonder if there is a way I can contact people who have done the course....will look into that, thanks
Crafy the train station is pretty central, flying can be cheaper if you're self funding these journeys....http://www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk/passengerinformation-gettinghere-publictransport.php has bus/coack etc stuff on it
lil_me are you using FirstClass? If so you could see if there is an open forum for your OU course to get in touch with other students.
There is a website for OU course material

Thanks for the Leeds info. Think I need to calm down and wait for the dates and location before I start searching properly. I suspect cheap air fares won't be an option (not from here) and still have to factor in taxis, buses, etc

So im hoping he would be ok if we didnt make it!  :rotfl:

CraftyScholar thank you, someone on that site has the books I need for £26.50 inc P&P they are £19.99 each (2 books) so have sent enquiry. I will look up what FirstClass is..... Another option might be coach travel if you don't mind using coaches they sometimes have good offers.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Congratulations Jennybee

I'm trying desperately to get some housework and studying done.

    So far I've
    • stripped the beds,
    • 3 loads of washing (3 to go)
    • cleaned the kitchen except for the floor which I'll do when the washing is finished
    • Tidied up the livingroom
    • Helped DD with her literacy homework
    • Updated finances
    • Checked email etc.
Now I'm off to deal with the last load of washing thats just finished an extra spin, put another load in and make tea.

  • My earlier bed routine seems to be working as that's 3 morning in a row I have been up earlier. Flower you are slipping again - you need to be in bed before midnight!!!!toots xx

Mmmm, yes, consider my wrist smacked... :( am really annoyed with myself as got right back on track only to mess it up - I'm blaming hubby coz he stopped me doing stuff during the day so I did it in the evening again... (but can't really blame him, I am master of my own decisions I suppose... )
Probably won't get to bed early tonight as we are going out (karaoke again!!! :D I'm a bit of an addict...) but promise I will try harder...:o

Hugs Lilly Sue - not much I can say except my thoughts are with you and yours at the moment... :A

OddJob - That was brilliant, really cheered me up and reminded me why I don't like anyone else cooking in my kitchen... :D
Well done on getting lots done - you sound like you've been busy... :)

OK, have got to page 65 but really can't spend the time at the moment catching up, so will try again later.

    Today I have:
    S&S'd kitchen
    DW x 1
    WM x 3
    S&S'd bathroom
S&S'd lounge and polished all surfaces in there
    Vacuumed whole of downstairs
Sorted ALL DVD's/Videos/games on dining table
Managed to clean dining table and replaced cloth
Removed/threw/gave away some of them as necessary
Put Office 07 back onto hubbys computer

So I have been quite busy, but really need to do paperwork now, so off I go... see you all later...

    4 hours WOW
They induced me at 6 pm Thurs evening
DS was born by section early Sat morning (about 10 past 12 I think - I was unconscious)
I had gas and air (yuk) - pethidine - epidural THEN a general.
I was on morphine (self administered) after and had cot sides up and fell asleep with DS on the bed when the nurses didn't respond to my buzzer - but I was home the Wednesday as DS was feeding well and triplets were due and they were packed out (9 months after christmas :rotfl: In my defence DS was very late and planned...)

So double well done to you...

By the way, afterwards I was asked by the midwife at the docs to share my breastfeeding experiences with the mums to be. I was asked to tell them about the birth first and one of the mums to be actually asked me if I felt I deserved a healthy baby after I had not given birth normally ...I was NOT impressed - I am sure giving birth 'normally' is a wonderful experience - but I don't feel I have missed out having had sections - because after DS I asked for an elective rather than go through a failed labour again. And it meant I was awake when I had DD and I was able to phone grandma and tell her the happy news myself. I have no idea who told me I had a son...all hazy :rotfl:
