Right, done meal plan of sorts to post in a mo. Cleared a bag of recycling and a bag of rubbish. Have put the fire on, going to pop and DVD on and do some popcorn, DVD with the kids, just got to decide which. Nim's Island I think. Will recommence flying after bed time, think they deserve me at least trying to have some nice quiet time with them.
One day I might be more organised...........

Congratulations Jennybee! Do I have the record for fastest though? DS1, induced following pre eclampsia, examined and nothing happening at all 6pm, delivered naturally at 6.46pm.

Drum roll please, we have cleared the junk room! Stud wall for the BR and new BR will be going in tomorrow. I need a skip though, and to have a freecycle frenzy.

Well done on the junk room! :j :j :j bet you're chuffed...

You beat me... I went into labour friday night at 10pm, they gave me a pethadine injection at 10.30pm and I promptly fell asleep - all labour stopped! Woke up at 10am the next morning gasping for a cuppa, labour started again at 10.30am and DS was born at 11.45am - 1 hour 15 mins later!!! They told me to push, so I did, and he shot out so fast they just caught him before he flew off the table!!! Think he thought he was going to have a bit of a bunge jump!!! :rotfl: He's not stopped rushing about ever since, we used to call him forest gump because he would run down the path infront of us and then run back ALL THE WAY to wherever we were going, he was (and still is) a nightmare to keep still...
With DD, they started me off at 7pm on Thursday night, and she was born at 9pm on the Saturday - 2 days, 2 hours!!! don't figure... although she is so slow to move and laid back, she's almost horizontal!!!

Have told OH to be home by 7 for dinner (he's at our old flat decorating still), so must shoot off to do it now. We're having easy veggie bolognaise using veggie mince and a jar of Knorr Ragu with red wine in it which was on offer in sainsbugs. Normally I'd make the sauce myself, but thought it would save me some time. Need to clear the draining rack of the dried washing up and do some of the washing up waiting on the worktop. Will use the half hour as a HHC to get all of that done.
Best say goodnight now as there's usually lots I watch on telly on a Saturday so don't expect I'll be on again tonight.

    Night all,

    sexymouse xx

PS pigpen we haven't had any 27 fling boogies for a while on our lists - will any be included next week? It certainly gets things cleared quickly, plus some dancing may help me with the weightloss.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Mozzy sorry about the viewers - if you can afford to do a paint over in a neutral shade throughout I would - its not a huge job if you do a room ata time- it will look bright and its easier for them to imagine their own things there then-go into a room and be very critical of it - take a good look around and see if there is anything that you can remove into the garage or storage /loft/friend's garage/shed or wherever that makes it look bigger. be nosey and have a look at some show homes or similar properties on the market and see what they look like.
dusty hugs honey for your wasted afternoon - seems strange to send Nan for an xray on a saturday!

It isn't easy is it? I got my boys into a 7am to 7pm routine early on which gave me the evenings to do stuff. When I got really desperate I booked them into nursery one morning a week which really, really helped but I appreciate is a 'bad mummy' thing to do and not cheap. Do you have anyone who could entertain him whilst you get on? More than anything I learnt to make the most of the opportunities I had, amazing what you can do in 15 minutes if you really try. At the end of the day though having a happy child is more important than a clean house - we made a lot of sacrifices for me to be at home, and it wasn't so I could be a cook/cleaner.

HTH - I am sure someone with more constructive ideas will come along.

No Hex I beg to differ - IMO - it's a very good mummy thing to do....

it gave you some time for yourself and if, like many, you are away from family/support and have no-one to take kiddies off your hands you can get ground down with it all - so don't beat yourself up about it - and it benefits the kiddies because they can learn social skills a bit too... we can tell, when they get to school, because they are more confident, more independant...so a GOOD thing...
Think it was Chunky who was considering doing this before xmas with hers - and if I remember rightly everyone who commented told her to go for it and not beat herself up about it.

Can I have 'sensible kids' vibes please -I am going out tonight and leaving DS (15) and DD (13 on Thursday) home alone. Have left DS before but first time they will be together ...

Hello ladies. I have been reading this thread with interest and amazement at how much cleaning you all do. I really find it difficult to keep my house clean and have been inspired to get more done. I wonder if you have any advice or tips on cleaning when you have a small child. My little boy is nearly 1 and into everything so it is very hard to get anything done when i am constantly watching him. He will not go in a play pen as he cries constantly when i try to put him in with his toys and only sleeps for about 45 mins in the day. Any ideas would be very helpful

I have a 1 year old, so am in the same position. I have joined the actual flylady yahoo group and am using their routines and that. It means that I never feel I have to spend hours at a time cleaning, I do my morning swish and swipe in the bathroom etc. which helps me to keep on top of the cleaning.

Apart from that my LO tends to follow me around as I do stuff! I chat to him constantly as I go, so he doesn't feel I am ignoring him and I aim to spend 5 mins playing after every 15 mins of chores. He does like watching in the night garden, so if I need to mop a floor or something I pop him in front of the telly for 20 mins!

    Good luck, F xx
