I really find it difficult to keep my house clean and have been inspired to get more done. I wonder if you have any advice or tips on cleaning when you have a small child. My little boy is nearly 1 and into everything so it is very hard to get anything done when i am constantly watching him. He will not go in a play pen as he cries constantly when i try to put him in with his toys and only sleeps for about 45 mins in the day. Any ideas would be very helpful

almost 4 days oh Pigpen...how awful bet you were stressed with him being early too...least I got a kip!
I did too.. I collapsed with exhaustion halfway through day 2 attached to a monitor so the staff knew he was ok and I was still having Cx's but he still didn't move!! It got worse.. he had 2 cardiac arrests (one at birth one just after) and took 20 minutes and 15 minutes to get breathing respectively.. I then woke up at about 10 pm and he was born at 2:10am.. EVENTUALLY!! With alarms ringing for theatre and NICU staff haring down the corridor!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen that sounds really traumatic - was it your last one?
I've had a very constructive day - plenty of laundry etc but have also managed to uncover large tracts of the spare room. DH agreed to part with about 90% of his wire collection (most homes have one) and even agreed that he probably won't miss it. Onwards and upwards!:D0 -

nope!! lol.. he was number 3 of 8 He wasn't even the most traumatic! just the most dramatic!!
DS3 (number 5) was born arm first.. and almost fell off the table.. at 31 weeks
DD3 (#6) was emergency section after her heart stopped
DD4 (#7) was emergency section after I had 3 contractions and it ripped my insides apart.. including my bowel and bladder and everything.. and I still had another after her!! and the spinal wore off halfway through the surgery.. I had so much morphine I was singing in theatre..
I like drama.. I am SUCH an attention seeker!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

toots thanks for the support!!
that's exactly what i do.
i'll make a list of what needs doing and start with one room and work my way around  - wish me luck!!!!
it's just we have silly old wallpaper (with sticking up patterns?!) all downstairs and some upstairs - so that will be a major job :eek:0 -
toottifrootti wrote: »Mozzy sorry about the viewers - if you can afford to do a paint over in a neutral shade throughout I would - its not a huge job if you do a room at a time- it will look bright and its easier for them to imagine their own things there then-go into a room and be very critical of it - take a good look around and see if there is anything that you can remove into the garage or storage /loft/friend's garage/shed or wherever that makes it look bigger. be nosey and have a look at some show homes or similar properties on the market and see what they look like.
must go find food - I am hungry now!
toots xx
Hope you've eaten now Toots - Just had cottage pie and beans with banana and custard for afters... numnumnum...
And do you want a job? That's great advice about the house you've just given. Sorry Mozzy, not caught up with prev posts. You having problems with viewers? drop me a PM if you like and if I can help I will...No Hex I beg to differ - IMO - it's a very good mummy thing to do....
Can I have 'sensible kids' vibes please -I am going out tonight and leaving DS (15) and DD (13 on Thursday) home alone. Have left DS before but first time they will be together ...
Have to agree with Valli here Hex - you're not a bad Mummy for wanting some me time at all - and I think going somewhere with children of their own age to interact with is a very good thing too...
Everyone to their own, but don't beat yourself up about it - if it worked for you then it's a good thing...;)
~~~~~~~~~~~good kid vibes on their way too Valli~~~~~~~~~~~~
