Its way too early for complex mathematics. In fact its way too early for any sort of mathematics. However in the spirit of all intrepid explorers who boldly go where no man has gone before I braved the dusty craters that are the far recesses of my mind in the vague hope of discovering some of my A-level maths which incidently I was so completely useless at that I got the lowest ever grade in the entire history of my school. Such a proud moment for my dad. Had it been possible for them to give minus figures I have no doubt my maths teacher would have been delighted to have done so. And framed them.
Yet another digression. Matched betting just became a whole lot more complicated. I found a fab matched bet to take advantage of a free £10 but at odds of 12 to one this required a triple figured bet. Heart in mouth time. Or at least it would have done had I taken the easy option. But the exchange also had a v. small amount available at 11.5 - meaning more money for me but a headache in the process. So I've had to figure out how to place two bets at the exchange on the same game at different odds to match what I'd win at the bookies. Confused? I certainly was. I think I've got there in the end. Will let you know tomorrow but for anyone with even the vaguest clue out there I've backed £10 SNR at the bookies at 12.0 and laid at the exchange £5.61 @ 11.5 and £3.83 at 12.0. I've still time to correct it if I've made any enormous !!!! ups. All this for a free £8.97.
Whinge of the day part 2. Men and supermarkets. He needed fuel. We needed food so we combined the two. Sensible huh? Well actually no. Big mistake, huge, huge mistake (although not quite as Pretty Woman as it could have been *its an Ally McBeal moment!). We've had a cat for 8 years. Which completely explains why it was imperative that we did not leave the store without a cat flap or 2 weather proof padlocks, a bike handle bar bag, a set of bungee cords or 2 screwdriver sets. OK we needed printer ink (although I'm still convinced we only needed black) and I did splurge and spend £5 on discounted doggy teeth chews to see if that helps the old dear. Total bill a whopping £128.88. Thats after £3 of vouchers. I seemed to spend the better part of an hour saying we don't need that, what on earth do you want that for, where are you going to put that.... bit like a broken record - Whingy Wife the extended re-mix. I suppose it could have been far worse. At least he didn't venture upstairs to check out the computer games section.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Mystery Shop done. The fella that got stuck with me was fabulous so I've given him 10 out of 10 right across the board. T'is lovely whe n you get to do that rather than thinking oh god please don't pick your nose and chat about your boyfriends venereal disease whilst making my sandwich. Not that thats ever happened but ..... 41 minutes later thats another £12. Fortunately when they do what they're supposed to do its v. v. quick to enter so its taken me about the same time as normal.
2 cheques from Music Magpie arrived this morning so thats £11 to add to the pot. Have ordered a supply of pre-pained envelopes from le banc so that I can post my chques to them instead of treking into civilisation or forking out 20p for a stamp. Actually I haven't got a clue what a stamp costs. I have 100 or so stockpiled in the cupboard from another survey company. Also have a letter from the postie to say I have to go and collect a parcel. I haven't ordered anything which means its a free sample of something to trial for a survey company. Will dispatch OH to collect it when he takes the DDs swimming.
Flea-bay tat up to £11 with 4 days to go. 2 mugs of coffee drunk and a pack of free crisps munched guess its time to do some housework before lunch and before the OH arrives home to find out I've done sweet F.A. around the house again. Mind you it seems to be working. Yesterday the OH washed up, loaded the washing machine and started cooking dinner before falling asleep on the sofa and forgetting to collect the DDs from school.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Yesterday I was presented with a bouquet of roses by schools gardening club as a thank you for making them outdoor planters - entirely on schools time whilst avoiding actual work. I had a cheesy grin from ear to ear for the rest of the day.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Todays Plan of Attack (although I fear it may take considerably longer than a day)
1 - DDs bedrooms - venture forth and retrieve laudry
2 - Spend several hours doing the above laundry
3 - Clean bathroom no.2
4 - Remove cobwebs from kitchen.
5 - Work out what size bulbs are required for oven and extractor. Add to shopping list
6 - Clean extractor
7 - Empty and clean at least 2 kitchen cupboards.
8 - Vaguely tidy at least one of the DDs rooms
That should keep me busy for a bit.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I am a muppet!
I've placed a lay without first checking that there was enough at the exchange to match it. The reson I'm reporting this is because there wasn't *duh*. So £10 at the bookies at 3.4 but not the £10.30 I was attempting to lay at the exchange at 3.35. Instead a rather paltry £2.38. Not a huge disaster. I'll make up the difference at 3.4 only there wasn't enough of that either. I've left 26p unmatched to see what happens (might as well learn something useful from this). If the match is a draw then I'm inadvertantly in profit and if not I make a loss of £1.22. Not huge but a mistake I won't be making again. Just glad its on a small bet! Must take the time to read the small print in future.
Washing machine on. Fire lit and more snow appearing. Tis very pretty out although my fingers are freezing.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Yesterdays unmatched bet was matched overnight (mini sigh of relief breathed). This morning I've placed another five qualifying bets to unlock £10 and £25. Need to wait for those to appear on my accounts and then I'll get them in play over the weekend.
Managed 50% of my list of things to do from yesterday which is more than I would have done if I hadn't written them down. Todays cold and damp and dull but OHs expenses have been submitted with an unexpected £300 profit despite the exchange rate being lousy. Hopefully that will appear in another week or so. All the snow has turned to slush, its rather sad really. Everythings turned from being white and sparkly to grey and dull overnight.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Whoo hooo £50 cheque from YouGov arrived today. Will bank that on my way back to work. First load of washing on, coffee drunk. Going to munch some hot buttery toast then start on the housework. Its non-stop fun here!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

It snowed tons more overnight but the girls riding lesson went ahead anyway although it was incredibly cold! Whilst we were out and about we picked up some logs and kindling for the fires and a bag of chicken feed as the girls were starting to run low.
Done a couple of very quick on-line surveys acruing £2 to Paypal and £3 in High Street Shopping vouchers. OH is working this evening so will get to surf more later.
Couple of the footy matches have been snowed off. The bookies have refunded the money whilst the exchange merely list the game as suspended. Must keep an eye on that in case the lay is transferred to the rescheduled game.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
