Feel the lurve. More specifically feel the lurve whilst gyrating up and down a shiny metal tube watched by your bemused co-workers. Thats right. Our next staff night out is a group pole dancing lesson. More bizarely it was suggested by one of the very demure older ladies who is rapidly approaching retirement. My mum did warn me that its the quiet ones you've got to watch out for. She wasn't kidding. Obviously my name is at the top of the list of those with no morals or self respect who will definately be there.

I've won a £5 Boots voucher. The postman brought an unexpected presentation pack of picture stamps and a cheque for £31.02 for trading in a mobile phone on schools behalf. I'm cheating a little. The company schools usually use pay £2.50 per handset (or less) whereas with a little effort I can get much more money trading them individually so school get much much more for exactly the same phone and I gain £1.49 per transaction via Quidco when they track.

I've had a non-MSE lightbulb moment but more of a *duh* one. The DDs are going to their grandparents for the weekend. The DDs are packed. Granny is coming to collect them tomorrow. It has just dawned on me that Granny ... is.... coming...to... the .... house... tomorrow. Perhaps my time at home would be better spent cleaning toilets than surfing the net trying to work out where the best place to sell 100 unused postcards with pictures of stamps on is. The answer is not Flea-bay as the ones on there either don't sell or go for peanuts.

Hiya M2M! I've just spent all my between-work time catching up on your diary and think you're quite amazing to juggle everything! Best of luck with those postcards X

Hello Bobbadog! You made me giggle. I don't think I'm amazing and I really don't juggle everything its more that I manage to catch things before they go crashing to the floor. I've spent the last three housework avoidance breaks munching Toblerone (£2 for a giant one at Mr. Ts) and reading the stripy socks diary. Makes me feel very fortunate that OH is 100% behind us and when the carp hits the fan hes first in line at the chippy to perform serious damage limitation. Which is why yesterday went a bit like this...

Survived disco, escaping at 7pm rather than the usual 9:45. Having only minorly cheesed off the PTA by having them remove a giant heart from obscuring an illuminated emergency exit sign and a very flimsy metal rose arch which both narrowed a fire exit and kept falling over providing potential carnage in the event of a stampede. I am Satan. Arrived home to a bemused OH who hadn't cooked assuming that my we'll see you at 7pm would morph into a phonecall at 8pm to say I'd be back by 10pm with a tired 6 year old and its hyperactive 9 year old sibling in tow. My parenting ability is at times rather dubious. His plan was to wait for this phone call and then leg it to the nearest kebab house. Instead DD1 and I went to the chippie come pizza place come kebab house and blew a tenner on take out but as I didin't get collared for the usual fivers worth of carp at the disco it wasn't all that bad.

DD2 couldn't eat her fish as wobbly tooth gushed blood with each mouth full. Her PJs resemble a scene of crime. OH ingeneously pruned a twix extracting the caramel and a chunk of finger at the same time. DD2 munched caramel whilst OH attempted to bleed to death in the kitchen. DD1 was more concerned that she wouldn't be able to eat the remainder of the Twix if he failed to relocate himself and his bloody splatters elsewhere. DD2 then bored of munching caramel and yanked. Tooth emerged (!!!!!! have forgotten to perform my duties as stand in tooth fairie - must do something about that in a mo. More !!!!!! its 5 past 7 already. How does that happen??) More blood. Lots and lots and lots of it. Cue DD2 standing in the centre of a pool of someone elses blood in the middle of the kichen with a kitchen roll wrapped frozen chip plugging the hole in her mouth.

Gott to run.... will complete the saga of the frozen chip anon. Later dudes!

Completely lost my train of thought. Not helped by the coldest start of the week yet. Penny pinching logic says that by 7:15am everyone will be washed so the water goes off. This morning 7:15am occured nano seconds after I covered my head in shampoo. Made it to school early expecting carnage. That was the understatement of the year. It took two hours to clear up the aftermath of the previous nights disco, nomrally that wouldn't be an issue but today was grand tour of the school by prospective parents day. Hello and welcome, please excuse the bin bags and the faint odour of vomit.... really appealing that is. Of course today is also non-uniform day and end of term cake sale day so the staff are treating it as mega dress down Friday complete with Dominos delivering pizza for lunch. Oh how the other half live.

  • Hi moo2,

Sounds like last night was good fun...I have yet to go through the tooth fairy stage with DS...I can imagine hat he'd try and get as many out as possible once he realises he can money for them lol

Good luck with the prospective parents and the clearing up...I don't envy you that chore.

    Catch you later,
