Coool but flawed. Papier mache takes ages to dry and the house is incredibly cold so my options would be allow it to air dry natural thus developing fluffy mould and collapsing in a soggy heap, nuke it in the microwave most likley setting fire to it or bung it in the oven again risking fire. T'would be far more fun though. Will see if I can figure out a way to dry it without risk of injury to the hedgehog. Must also convince DD1 that hedgehogs are not naff as shes reached the critical stage in her upbringing where all afults are clueless morons to be treated like cash dispensers and are individually responsible for the failure of the universe. Other than that shes a delightful child. As a contingency plan I'll have lots of fun making papier mache with DD2 whilst DD1 points out what we're doing wrong and DD1 can concoct her very elaborate scale model of Troy wotis face from High School Musical (with attached pencil holder).

Will raid the staff room for newspaper as I'm far to cheap to actually buy any and here in the back of beyond no one ever delivers the free ones. Even the Jehovahs Witnesses think twice about venturing this far outside civilisation.

Have checked my internet banking (the novelty has yet to wear off) still no sign of the child benefit. 10p to go to get my bingo tenner. Have to say thats surprised me how quick its racked up. That'll make £20 withdrawn in less than a month. St. M!niver are far more generous than T.A.B. though.

Life in cloud cuckoo land almost impacted on matched betting yesterday. Trawling round I found a few great odds for matches at 10:00 on the 29th. Went to place one only to discover that betting had closed. Rather odd or so I thought at the time. Turned out yesterday was the 29th (oops) and the 10:00 kick off was 10:00 local time or 9pm in the UK. Ooops. Must figure out what todays date is in future before I start.

P.s. I'm not quite as blonde as I come across. The blonde has been diluted by rather a lot of very pale grey and its rather scary how rapidly thats materialising.

If there was a whoop whoop dancing around with pants on head type icon I would be using it now. It appears I'm finally getting through to the OH. As hes away I get to open all his post and the postie has just arrived with an enormous pile, 30+ letters in total. I love opening post! Anyway enough of a digression. 3 out of 4 of his "in use" credit card statements have arrived. One has a balance of zero *whooppeeeee*, one is sub £50 and the third is under £100 (30 of which was mine from the dentists screw up). The 4th one arrived last week sub £25. I'm in a state of shock. Thats less than a quarter of what he usually racks up. I forsee a super mega overpayment in February.

I'm in such a good mood that I'm going to write the report I need to submit to the Charity Commission and get that completed today then I can officially hand over my PTA hat to the next mug enthusiastic parent.

Reprts written but I can't enter them as the password I have is incorrect and the new one went to the registered e-mail address at school. Ho hum.

Much more positively I got an e-mail about a bookies offer which ends at midnight but gives 100% matched deposit to £20. So I've faffed around and deposited £20 via Paypal as it was the only way to do it without a 2% fee. It might only have been 40p but its my 40p and I'm keeping it. Now have to wait 24 hours for my free £20 to appear and then match the whole £40 in the next 10 days to lose at the bookies rather than getting tied down with wager requirements.

Its cold, wet windy and grotty but it just became a no spend slobbing around in PJs type weekend. The DDs riding lesson has been cancelled saving £20 and 40 minutes standing round freezing watching them plus the 25 mile round trip. Master plan at the mo. is to have a long lie in getting up briefly at midnight, 4am and again at 8am to let the geriatric tap dancing dog out. Shes 14+ (not sure how much plus) and needs to visit the ladies every four hours. Shes still bright enough to wake herself up but then she wakes me up by tap dancing in the bedroom rapidly followed by a wet nose in my ear and a huff. I've learnt to respond to the tap dance as this avoids the wet nose. Theres absolutely no reason to go out so we'll stay home by the fire instead. That way I won't be tempted to spend any money at all.

  • Awww she sounds like a clever dog! What is she? Your weekends sound like mine, if you substitute DD's for DS's, horse riding for football and 40 minutes for just over an hour!.

Shes a medium sized dark coloured short haired friendly female dog. Or at least thats what the OH agreed to. What actually arrived home was enormous, long haired, white, fluffy and incredibly well behaved (for me but not for anyone else). Shes a Samoyed / German Shephard cross that I found in a rehoming centre as a neglected 6+ year old. She loves the OH to bits but won't let him walk her on a lead and after 8 years he given up trying.

I guess any parent has the same hour or so of torture each week. But I'd rather freeze than go to a birthday party at an indoor play centre. That really is hell on earth!

Todays a great day for matched betting. There are loads of identical odds matches to choose from. I've gone with 3 x 3pm kick offs which should allow me to fit in some games tonight too. All but one are qualifying games to unlock some more free tenners. Its slow going but I'm learning lots from it and I'm gradually building my pot which is making things easier. Its surprising just how quickly the odds fluctuate though with 5 hours to kick off the market is already moving.

Whoo hoo I won a whole 25p on the scratchards taking me to £10.15. Played 10p of it on the bingo and got a whole two numbers thus losing my 10p *sob* but I can't be kicked off for failing to play real money games. £10 withdrawn.

Off to do some ironing. Hope you're all having a fun filled Saturday and those of you on the touchlines aren't getting too wet.

Its maths time. As today is the final day of the month I'm going to declare our total overpayments as £727 and our target for next month as £1100 to take into account that its shorter than normal, mortgage repayments have dropped a little and its a council tax free month. That will put us on track for being sub 30K by June.
