I signed up to talk talk on 30.12.08 after talking to my son who had problems with them i decided to cancel 4 days later, i did this by phone they said i would get a letter confirming this in 10 days, 15 days later and still waiting. Since then they are acting as if i am still wanting the service, contacting present suplier telling them were leaving them, sending out a router, querying why we have cancelled the direct debit mentioning extra charges if they have to bill us. I have made numerous phone calls and each time i call they say i do not have an account with them and when they check against my name and address it shows as cancelled. I contacted them to to get the prepaid package to return the router as per insrtuctions, the person on the phione said no need just take it to the post office in the original packaging. The post office would not take it unless we pay and on and on it goes.

  • oh my god, when I started this thread I never expected to get that sort of advice, I am terrified now! lol... seriously!

For price... they are the cheapest, as your paying for phone, broadband AND line rental.. however these "complaints" are sounding very worrying.

Could anyone comment on the "gaming" side? my partner plays games alot online, and he'd kill me if i ended up spoiling his games online! Is there anyone who plays games online with talktalk that could enlighten me please?

    thnx x

    Hi Hannah2008,

If you are going for an LLU connection with TalkTalk (free broadband) then we can change broadband profiles to reduce the ping time for online gaming, Most gamers prefer a fastpath profile so online gaming should be a better experience although without knowing the location of your line and distance from the exhange etc its difficult to comment too much..

    Cheers

  • I was thinking about Talk Talk after just seeing an advert for them. Currently I have a BT line which has gone up to £11.50, Tiscali for calls and BB (free weekend calls to landlines), currently £10.00 plus any calls.

Just for the record, Tiscali customer services are horrific too.
