Wow Ive just been reading your diary and I think your plan is really good.Amd well done, you have paid back lots!!
    Thanks :)
I was getting really stressed out with it all in the beginning but my new simpler plan is paying off, and I'm not as angst-ridden as I was a few months ago trying to do too much at once!

Of course, now my debt is nearly a grand lighter that makes a difference. And not worrying too much about whether I can afford to do stuff... everything is a lot easier.

I can't wait for my credit report to be a bit more cheerful though, so I can apply for a 0% card and try and ditch the Halifax card at least (evil APR and min payment) I'll give it another few months..

And I need to look at insurances this month too... hopefully save a few pennies there, and get some cashback from Topcashback, or similar site.

Still a NSD so far today. Spending my lunch hour on here so I'm staying out of mischief :D

Still, no work tomorrow so hey ho! :D
(Have seen the typo but it seems appropriate!):D

well, today I could really do with sorting out our buildings and contents insurance because i'm sure our policy runs out at the end of this month, and as has been pointed out- we are currently paying through the nose. will possibly get some cashback from TCB too! which would be nice. it's just gonna be a bit of a pain- gotta dig out all the paperwork, possibly ring norwich union to check how to cancel policy and check details of a claim we made a few years ago.. *sigh* i'd rather watch tv and do nowt, but if i leave it 'til next week it's probably cutting it a bit fine!

apologies for absence of many capital letters, i'm typing one handed with a cup of tea in the other! coffee1.gif

What a co-incidence. Just received an email from Direct Line offering me 10 months for 12 on home insurance. Good timing- i would probably forgot to check them out :)

having a deja-vu there. Sure i posted the same thing a few weeks ago. I just like sitting on the sofa so much! Just checked back and it was the 4th of february. How bizarre that exactly a month later i'm stuck on the sofa again unwilling to move.

I won 20quid on virgin bingo at the weekend (had saved up enough money from daily free scratchcard to have a flutter and came up trumps so didn't even gamble my own money!!) :j
Problem is: I have to call them to change my bank detail before I can withdraw as I found out the details they have is for a card which was stolen :(
And gambler that I am a little voice is saying 'Go, on. Have another go, you could win more' and my sensible voice is saying 'don't be stupid, you'll only loose it'
So it's just a matter of ignoring the little devil and waiting until i can get the money out as I would like to pay that 20quid off of my credit card.
    I shall be good! :A

Blimey, that was a bit like getting blood from a stone! have finally managed it over a week later and some rather strange calls to some confused girls in Gibralter! They kept telling me I had to have a zero balance to withdraw money, so then I got a little annoyed and said - 'so basically you're saying I have to LOOSE the money I've won in order to be able to change my details to potentially not win anything else' So, yay! Finally managed to withdraw it :j

Have deceided to send £10 to my credit card, and £10 to my shiny new ING savings account for christmas!

Have also just found out that we have been paying for income protection insurance for the last three years- I'm sure we don't need it, or at least we can probably get it cheaper! Right, going to crack on with sorting out the buildings and contents insurance. Currently paying £34.95 per month. (the £10.32 I thought was contents insurance is in fact life insurance!)
  • Hi there

You seem to be doing well, despite not leaving the sofa and having a bootle of wine, good on ya.
