    thanks becky!
i actually live next to oval tube but head on down to battersea as its so much nicer than kenninton park!
but i will be looking to go next week (working this weekend)

    rich,
i was amazed by the numbers....and i am going to be adding to them!
a battersea one would be great. i am too lazy/disorganised to start it up but if you and becky organise it I will be there for the first race (if there is only three of us i fear i may be bringing up the rear!!)

I'd love to organise one but sadly I dont have time either and if you organise it you dont get to run it , you'd think with all of us Londoners we could manage something:rolleyes: but I'm still not sure that Battersea would be suitable as it has roads in (you're not allowed to cross any roads as park of a parkrun which makes sense) :o

Hmmm perhaps you could do it but it would be winding to say the least (am still not sure if this crosses any road either tbh)

Oh yeah speaking of the BUPA 10k my friend who is female and over 60 ran it in 1:07:27 - Rich can you work out a rough WAVA - I think she would be very pleased (just use her age as 61 ;)) :D

Wow that's a fantastic time your friend did Becky. I'm off in to the corner now to hide with embarrassment at my time. :o

Well she's very fit for her age - but actually she was a little disappointed - thats why I'm hoping the WAVA might cheer her up some - I suspect its pretty good :D

She doing the Great South Run soon as well so it'll be nice for her to get into a bit more distance - I'm really chuffed she's enjoying it so much tbh (she had some time off running last year and is just getting back into the swing of regular training) :D

I was over the moon with my time, but the more and more I hear people's "disappointing" times, the more I feel pretty unfit. But, I will plod on slowly but surely and hope to improve on my times.

Consistent training is the best way to get better (and you'll enjoy races more if you do) :D

Again though - its easy to compare but really all you should use it for is to spur yourself on to be better - dont let it get you down if someone is faster, just train harder till they're not. Healthly competition is good, but all out judging yourself by others is not so good...

Nice idea but I suspect I wouldn't be very good at that kind of job - I'm far too mean , there would be no excuses and people would complain :D:p:o

See I got told I was mean last week. One of the girls from work wanted to come out running with me at lunchtime and I wouldn't let her walk until she had ran 1/4 of a mile and she said I was too hard on her.
