Welcome back Becky; hope the bone scan goes ok - enjoy your nice long run :D

Rich - you'd better take me off Abingdon too but on the bright side can you put me down for the New Forest Marathon on 27 September 2009 please? Oh, and I'm in the ballot for the VLM 2010 too - not a hope of getting in but it's worth a shot. :D

    Absolutely not!!!

If you're struggling to go out get back to your own motivation for doing it in the first place, whatever that may be!:D:D

I'll add you to the FLM list, somebody must get a ballot place!!!:D

    Hi everyone,

I am new here, I've been sitting with the Couch to 5k plan next to me for a couple of weeks now. Friday I decided to start and I did my 1st day. 10 mins in I was in pain and actually thought I was going to go home but I walked past the turning and carried on and persevere and it went off while I was walking and I easily did the 20 mins (I did 25 in the end). But I am asthmatic so I know I need to ease in gently.

Thing is, I've now come down with a slight chest infection nd I've been having to take my inhalers - not sure if the training triggered something - and I've taken some paracetamol to ease off the achy bits but I was wondering whether I should train when I am ill.

I am doing 5 min brisk walk warm up, 60 second jog - 90 minute brisk walk - 60 second jog - 90 seconds walk etc.... for 20 minutes for a week then the plan changes to incorporate more jogging. Any advice please for those that know. Should I just persevere through it or rest. I was going to train in the gym using the treadmill in case I had any problems so there would be people around if I was feeling too ill.

I am really annoyed that I've come down with this when I just started and really frustrated now. I have been trying to find a time to fit everything in and I finally sorted some time and now this.

What are your thoughts - carry on or wait until I am feeling better. Thanks.
