Well the 2010 london marathon website is still down.
Was looking to register for this, will be a big goal in the next 12months. Been looking around, most places want £50 registration fee then £2700 in sponsorship otherwise.
No news back from the GNR, though im looking for half marathons in between to get me back on track.0 -

Well, I am very happy with that - my time is pretty consistant throughout really! And I still can't believe just how close in time me and sally were!!
rich - nice to meet you and becky on Sunday :T Can you please add to the race list the Race for Life 5k which I am doing on Sunday 3rd May? Thank you!
Today has been really tough - I was very emotional this morning.....something which I had not prepared for. Also, I lost my appetite somewhat, which was also unheard of, but have started to eat again now. My thighs are the bit of me that ache most - everything else is reasonably good, but my thighs are a killer! But most of all, I am just incredibly incredibly tired!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. It is up to the club who gets the places but it is highly unlikely that you would be able to join a club and get one of the places until you've been with them a few years.
Beer Tins is right about Championship entries, being sub 2:45 for men and sub 3:15 for women. Also you can qualify by running a half marathon in 1:15 (men) or 1:30 (women).
Good For Age times:
Men 18-40 2:45-3:00
Men 41-59 Sub 3:15
Men 60-64 Sub 3:30
Men 65-69 Sub 4:00
Men 70+ Sub 5:00
Women 18-49 3:15-3:45
Women 50-54 Sub 4:00
Women 55-59 Sub 4:15
Women 60-64 Sub 4:30
Women 65-69 Sub 5:30
Women 70+ Sub 6:30
Age discrimination or what?...I'll have to age five years before I stop competing with 18 year olds.....:rolleyes:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Have a query for the running gurus:
My gf is signed up to do a RFL at the end of may. I started her out walking, around 3-4 miles at a good pace...started her a couple of months back, but with illness and one thing and another, she's been struggling to fit them in, so has probably only managed 8 or 9 of the things. Anyway, as time's getting short she decided she wanted to start running on Sunday. We went out for a really gentle jog, 15 minute miling. She was doing fine, actually (better than I expected), until around half a mile when her feet started hurting so badly she needed to stop.
So, we went off to a running store and had her gait analysed, got her some suitable shoes (she's not super-wotsit, she's the opposite one) - anyway, we went to try them out on the treadmill tonight and again after 2 or 3 minutes her feet started hurting.
Apparently it's really painful and down the outsides of the soles of her feet.
Just don't know what to suggest to her, really...will resting help...is this something she'll have to work through until her feet get used to it...should we get some sorbawotsits for her...Is it worth talking to her GP....anyone had any experience with this kind of pain and how to alleviate it?
It's such a shame, as you want to be stopping running because you're exhausted, not because you're in pain, innit - and I don't want running to become something she says "can't do" and leaves it at that...
Anyway, the positive is that I tested my new shoes at the same time - really good, like running on air. Only did 5k, but no signs of rubbing or muscular pain etc. Very pleased. Will try them out on a proper run if it's dry later in the week0 -
Rich can you add me in for leeds 10k run for all on June 21st. thanks
oh and I woukd like to get my 10k time down could you do me a training plan from next week until june 21st...is that doable for me or not? only if you have time though
