Dont know if you saw it yesterday but just to let you know - I think they should move the protestors but hey!

    I wouldn't worry too much.

The backup plan will still take you along the Embankment but turn off a little early up Northumberland Avenue, then into Trafalgar Sq and through Admirality Arch.

I would imagine they will then route through Horse Guards Parade so it can still go down Birdcage Walk and still finish on The Mall.

The meeting place, ie the lettered trees will have to be moved, probably into the park but that shouldnt be a major problem - I cant imagine that they'd want to change the finishing area location, that would be a headache.

In the final 24 hours now!!!!

Are you getting nervous, B T?

:rotfl: No, I think I'm OK for 5K. However something's come up (SIL having a bit of a crisis) and my wife may or may not be requiring the car and/or my assistance. Sorry to be so vague, but it's not really right to post her personal situation on a public forum! I'm really hoping not, because I'm looking forward to finally meeting you guys and don't know when you'll next be doing Wimbledon parkrun (?). Also wanted to wish becky luck in person if I could. I should know more tonight, so I'll let you know. If not, it'll be a warm up, followed by a fast 5K on my own, which just won't be the same, as I never seem to get up to the same pace as in a race. Maybe it's my (slightly) competitive nature!

Rich, is a year enough to go from no running at all to finishing a marathon? In theory I mean. I know I should have plenty of time myself and I'll be applying on Monday.
