ah Next year Rich...then no doubt we will be jealous too (those of us not doing it!)

I've got to say that I'm rubbish at watching races - I want to join in!:p

So on Sunday the plan is to get out for a 10K at about 5am so that I've got it out of the system before going over to Greenwich.:D:D

Yeah but dont wake me up please - I'll be snoring gently :D

Going to collect my number today - trying not to lose my form out of my bag ;), will have to go for a run at lunchietime though... off to find a route...

    Happy running all! :D
  • Aaaargh I want to run it now! So frustrated about my sore foot stopping me doing the little runs I had planned for this week. I think at last it is getting better so logically I should be grateful and rest for Sunday, but the little devil on my shoulder is saying, "oooh, a couple of miles won't hurt now will it?" !!

    Four more days!!
    LBM 16/06/08 - Credit card debts June '08 [STRIKE]£49,145 [/STRIKE].... Feb '13 balance £38,478 ... We'll get there :o

    03 Days 22 Hours 18 Minutes 00 Seconds

I take it you mean all the barriers and signs going up, Becky.

It is amazing that how one of the busiest cities in the world is turned into a well controlled race route.

It was impressive enough closing the entire 6 mile seafront at Blackpool for our race, but London is just a completely different scale.

The operation that swings into action on Saturday evening is mightily impressive - setting up the (very large) drinks stations, fleets of lorries being moved into place as the baggage transport, the construction of the complex finish area including keeping 35,000 chunky medals safe, all the television infrastructure to cover a 26 miles course and, of course, the painting of a 26 mile long blue line.

Having said that, there will be a man with a bag of flour going round to mark the course before mine and Beer Tins race the day before!:p

I'll really feel I can emphasise with the marathon runners after a 5K race marked out by a man and a bag of flower.

Yep, there's a big protest today by people who dont see why its only those who've been awarded the Freedom Of The City who are allowed to drive their sheep through the streets - they think everyone should be allowed to!:p:p:rotfl:

Bag of flower? Don't be looking for a line of tulips and carnations, Beer Tins!!!:p:p

Btw If you beat the man with the bag of flour you'll be well on your way to your target - something like 18 minutes should do it!
