Its just told me the quickest bus route to Excel was 3 buses - lies the number 15 goes to poplar which is one minute walk and stops outside my work - its obviously having one of those days ;)

It seems to assume you can't walk more than about 5 minutes at a time. Maybe fair enough for disabled site users etc. Just seen that I can get 2 trains to Wimbledon (via Clapham Junction) in a total of 31 mins from Crystal Palace. I'm afraid there is no easy bus option, could get 2 via tooting I suppose, but that would probably still take an hour.

I will drive this week only though. I'm not making excuses about having to pick up DIY stuff. I do avoid driving wherever I can. Are either of you good at plastering, BTW? If so, why don't you come to mine for breakfast afterwards? :rotfl:

    No I am NOT!

And we are meeting my parents a bit later in the day so no chance even if Rich is good at plastering :)

Me too. And my plastering looks like I was plastered at the time of doing it. Hoping it'll be good enough to wallpaper on, but apparently I have to wait at least 6 months for it to dry out before I do that

Hi all just a little note to wish those doing London all the best for a fab run, take care of yourselves and try to enjoy it as well!

I'm going away for a few days to my home town of Bedford so won't have internet access, I'll catch up on Monday. Me and 2 little ones in a hotel room for 4 nights - I'd rather do the marathon:D

I'm back out running (again) but I don't want to post my goals until I've got a good base of fitness and am a bit more consistent. Easier for me to get out now the evenings are lighter.

    See you soon, Ev x

  • Afternoon ,

Well i managed another 3 miles just before dinner.
Even though the legs were tired they still had enough in them to get me round in under 30mins and for a burst of speed in the middle, did a little bit of interval training 1 min at normal pace then upped it to 9mph for a minute, did this for 10 mins then back to my normal training pace. It felt good and i was surprised how little the legs complained about the increase in speed.

Hope you have good time away Evab.

Rich, if I miss a session in my training plan, is it more important to try to still hit the overall weekly milage, or would I still do an interval session instead of a long slow run to make up for it? It's academic at the moment as all my runs before Saturday are slow...

No always miss the session and dont try to make up - unless you miss the long run - then try to do it :D

Unless you want to swap one - say you know you are going to miss a tuesday run but want to get the speedwork in swap the wednesday slow recovery run for the speed work if you want but dont do it too much or you'll get tired ;)
