I agrre - but doing anything within your talent, training and ability is totally fine - I hate people who cheat though and at the end of all - they've really only cheated themselves - its like people who lie about running pb's I mean whats the point at the end of the day??:rolleyes:

I agree, whats the point in lying about your PB's... I mean everyone knows I will run the marathon in a sub 3 hours don't they :rotfl:

Don't worry, I won't attempt to keep up with the fastest woman at parkrun on my first go. that is the standard I'm aiming for 3 months from today though!

BTW, how does weight loss correspond to your time, Rich? e.g. if I dropped 10 pounds (realistically all I could hope for!), what kind of improvement in pace does that translate to?

See if women were doing it would be all about inclusion and everyone would let the office fatty do it if she wanted

not meaning to sound nasty, that wasn't intended but us women like everyone to join in IYSWIM...ok I'll get my coat!

    What?

Who said Corporate Challenge = Men?:p

In fact it involves categories for Men's teams, Women's teams and Mixed teams.

But at the end of the day, it is a race and a team race at that. Competitive sport is about picking your best team surely?

What does male or female have to do with it?

As long as weight loss doesn't result in power loss, ie reduction in lean muscle mass, then roughly speaking 'mass x velocity = constant'.

    Evening all!

Hey did you see my further comment about women being as bad tbh... but the first comment I was thinking of the chubby director in his chair - drat we have to win this year - lets hire some Olympian to do the job...rather than the runners themselves who are far to relaxed to be that macho and silly :D

Anyway - slightly sore shin so swapped days over and ran a nice easy 7 miles in 1:15 or so :D

Well done Simply - I take it you're enjoying your fartlek sessions? They certainly get the heart pumping and give that invigorated feeling.:D QUOTE]

Good evening peeps! Yes, Rich fartlek running is proving to be my favourite at the moment; I think because it makes a change from plodding along. Plus I do rather like a challenge!! :D

Tonight's plod was 4 miles, 00:40:49 (10.09/mile). I've got hills tomorrow - not quite such a favourite of mine. :rotfl:

Sally - thanks for confirming what I thought about the Nike, I must admit it makes me laugh when the mile points keep changing. I think it's time to start looking at HRM's anyway so I feel a gadget change coming on.

What a lovely evening for running!:D

Thats the first post-marathon run after 2 day's rest and it felt really good, so delighted with the recovery so far!

Nice running, Becky, a nice gentle one on the back of the 2 half marathons is spot on.

Glad you're enjoying your training (except the hills:p) Simply.
