Hi Becky, I'm not targetting a time, although time is important as it will be a good indicator of my marathon time. It is a very flat course and I should be OK, as I did 15.5 yesterday without any difficulty. My bad run at Haweswater is playing on my mind though. Every step of that race was torture!

You should be in bed! Get to sleep! :p

I know how you feel Chick - I'm super nervous about the Blackpool half after Brighton :o

But at least I get to watch Rich finish a race (he's running the marathon) for the first time ever which will be exciting - me cheering him over the line - unless I'm really really slow and he finishes before me :eek::eek:

I'm on a rest day today, but might go out this evening for a 10k to ease out some aches before intervals tomorrow :D

    Happy running all!

Awful little run today, was due one I suppose... Abandoned, try again tomorrow before my late shift.

Problem is it does affect your mood for the rest of the day which is not good. Going to be a grump at work later no doubt.......
  • Afternoon all,

Didnt get out at the weekend but have been given an early finish from work today to go for a run.
Really wind today so should be fun along the mainroad!
Will be going for the 7.7 miles again but with the wind im not expecting a blistering pace just be happy to get home in one piece.
Well done with all the running

I'm feeling rough today. My head is bunged up and my ears hurt, :( and as the day goes on I feel worse and worse. I don't think intervals will be on the cards later. I'll have to try to get a run in on Tuesday to make up for it if I feel up to it tomorrow. I hope I'm better by weekend for my race.

Oh no poor you Chick :( Hope you feel better soon! Better to rest than push too hard - those white bloods cells will be attacking that illness as we speak so I'm sure you'll be better by the weekend!

Well done JJ on the run.

Sorry about the tough one Rusty - we all haves run like that someones - but it makes me really grumpy to when I feel I havent worked hard enough either ;)

  • Hey folks, hope you all had a good weekend, mine was pants, i believe i've got the start of tonsilitis  thanks to my evil little brother and his habit of swigging out of all the bottles/cartons in the fridge. So whilst he is off work playing at dying of man flu and tonsilitis, i've had to brave work, and am supposed to be going to the gym tonight, but really don't know if i'm up for it, starting to get that all over body ache :(

i know the work out will give me a rush and get me to bed early, which is definitely needed, but will i be doing more than harm than good if i go?????

Pink if you're not well - dont go - there's no point pushing yourself when you're body is fighting off an infection or virus - it needs all the resources it can get - see Rich and his abadoned run yesterday!

Just relax and get better soon :D
  • beechams, bath and bed it is then :) i'm hoping the bugs will have started to surrender by tomorrow, if not i shall be off to the GP :(
