Thanks for posting those Rich!! No results yet though...
Saw that 14 yr old result - surely that must be a UK record for the age??
WOW
I dont mind those photos - they are pre stitch - I was flying at that point
Sorry about your run Hypno - I cried after Brighton Half - but the key is to try and pick yourself up and carry on - 2 months to marathon day you've got plenty of time
Well done Haley on the run
No electricity currently (on battery power) so off to drink bubbles and eat doughnuts0 -
Wimbledon last to post results for some reason.
It must be some sort of 14 year old record, that's for sure!
Keep the bubbles down to a couple of bottles!;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Great pics, becky - you look fab! My 14 year old did her last 5k in 27 mins......and I thought THAT was good!
Still disappointed about my run, but I have put it into perspective a bit more as the day has progressed - thanks for the support earlier. Someone reminded me too of all those people that would have started marathon training from scratch at the beginning of January, using a 16 week training plan, and will still not be up to running 9 miles at all at this stage, so I am ahead of those!
I do miss not having someone to run with - Dad would come with me in the old days, and of course Pania has moved away - I can't help thinking that these long runs would be much easier if I wasn't relying on pure self motivation/self destruction!! GAH!!!
I am going to have a rest day tomorrow to "regroup".....and this evening I am having dinner with a friend - no fizz for me because I will be driving, but a nice evening in store nonetheless.
Well done to all those who have got out for walks/runs today, and good luck for those putting in the miles tomorrow!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love running on my own - gives me time to clear my head. But when you are struggling on the long long runs, it would be nice to have someone for mutual encouragement as you start to flag, or to stop you running too fast (as was my problem this morning!) etc.
hayley, is there a running club near you - they are always happy to have beginners join in?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
yes there is and im contemplating joining it as its only down the road, so can 'run' down there, run around then run home again!:beer:0
-
haley, I would definitely look into that - most clubs will let you spend a couple of weeks with them before you join, and most clubs cost next to nothing to join, and nothing each week, so very MSE! And if it is only down the road from you, there can be no excuses for you not to go!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
