Morning All!
Woke up to find my old trainers had lost the heel in my run last night...no wonder it felt like such hard work
So anyway did an easy 4.5 in my new trainers and they are feeling a lot more comfy so going to try for another 10 miler tonight (I know it isnt speedwork sorry coachie), looking forward to the 5k on Saturday though.
Happy running all!
Lost the heel? I can't quite picture how you lose the heel from running shoes:rolleyes: Are you sure you weren't running in high heels?:p
The 5K on Saturday will be interesting - it will give you an idea of just where your speedwork is at the moment - I think you like 5Ks!:D
Hypno - good luck with your 'bonus' run!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Yep the heel at the back had broken off revealing the air bubble inside - I thought they felt uneven - but was sooo tired last night I didnt notice...

How was you run this morning Rich??0 -
So a 7-40 mile while hobbling? You must be getting fitter!:D
No morning run for me this morning - as with the last 2 weeks the Thursday 13 miler is going to be in the evening. It works better that way after 20 miles yesterday!
Off to buy some new running shoes and insoles today - I think the current pair are feeling a bit thin, but they must have done the best part of 1000 miles now, so no surprise there!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Pah lack of internet until yesterday and now my heating is broke and wont be fixed until tomorrow as they never had the parts on them today. Oh well.
Todays run now gonna be in the morning tomorrow as a form of heating
After Sundays hard run when i ran home from work monday night the legs were heavy and grumbling but then come tuesday morning my 5 mile run was nice and easy. Shows what good a short easy run does to loosen the legs.

Hi All
Just popping in to let you know that I am still alive (just about) - busy buying a house at the mo, so not had a lot of time for running (plus various other stuff going on). Got out today, though, for 7 miles (54:30) - very hard work, but better than nothing, as always.0 -
Evening
Well done on the run Idio

A decent christening of the new running shoes with a 1:51 half marathon.:D
This is the first week where I've started to feel really fit and I've got to say it's a feeling that I've sorely missed. You really can't beat the feeling of effortlessly flowing along without a care in the world!:D
So 53.5 miles for the week so far with 41.5 miles to go if the plan works out.
Well done on the runs Idio and Becky and good luck Hypno.
Kms - 24 hours? Your legs must be several inches shorter at the end of one of those races.:p

8.22 miles in 87 mins........
It was quite a breezy evening - I was not expecting that, so it took me a little while to get into my running, but once I settled into it, I felt quite comfortable. There were a couple of others out, but not many so no-one to aim for, but I am quite happy.
Off for a shower and then a bowl of chicken and pasta......
Rich, I can't imagine running 53 miles and only being half way through the week!! It is amazing how much we have all improved in such a short space of time :T We ought to be darned proud of ourselves!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Another good session, Hypno - the wind really can be annoying, can't it?
And yes, you're right, there have been some great improvements through consistent efforts - but the best reward has got to be that of feeling fit!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
