Or maybe the adults should be locked in a room until they become pensioners and then the problem wouldn't arise in the first place!

Look at it from the other viewpoint Becky. Said family goes to their gated garden for the first time in weeks..half term, first chance for them to spend a bit of quality time outside in the fresh air iwith their children in the sunshine.
They have had a nice time planned, letting the children run loose, no nagging them to do this, do that which normally they would get or being cooped up inside when along comes a runner who want to have sole use of the garden.
I totally agree they should have some rein on them as its a shared garden and I would generally make sure my DD would be careful and get out your way (but then I am a runner) but as a parent sometimes you know what its nice to let them roam and be free without that constant uphill struggle
Sure I will be in the minority here but hey shoot meI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Thats the thing though Sally - the garden is huge - all I wanted to use is the path round the outside and I'm happy to run around people but the kids were running in the opposite direction and didnt move when I said excuse me - now if I knocked one of them over it would be me getting in trouble...
And again its shared and we all pay for access so they should be a little more thinking about other people using it...and its half term if they wanted to run around they've had all day to do so...I have to fit sessions in around work hence why I go out when its dark (which also makes small children hard to see!)...0 -

Yeah they should be more considerate and it does drive me mad when parents don't take responsibility. Next time run into the little b*ggers, they'll get out of the way the next time :rotfl:I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. Good evening all.
Well done on the running alias, wont be long now till you reach that 10k mark.
After doing the circuit training this afternoon, i felt that the legs would be up for a run, so at 8.15pm i set out for a run.
I managed to do another longest run making 15km in 1:32:04, which makes it an average 31:08 per 5km, so its slower than my normal pace and im very happy in doing another long run. Before christmas i would never have thought of being able to run that distance or for that length of time.
And i am dad of 2 young children and i would have told them to get out of the way of the runner.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -

Good Morning, everyone! Wakey, wakey, rise and shine - it's another lovely day!:D
I'm not quite sure what happened there! Yesterday afternoon I learnt that I was going to be on an all training course today, starting at 8:15. So I wasn't going to have time for a run this morning and shuffled the runs around meaning the 14 miles was going to be this evening. The alarm was set for 7am and I was looking forward to a relative lie-in.
Somehow though I sprung to life at at 4:30, as if my body was prodding me and saying 'Come on, come on - we can go for a run now!'. This wasn't through not being able to sleep, I was wide awake and raring to go and so must have answered 'Oh, alright then'.
Within literally 5 minutes I was bouncing down the road like Tigger on some happy drug!
And it was great, a really nice, relaxing run to start the day.
As a bonus it now becomes a double breakfast day - just had a large bowl of muesli, bacon sarnies still to come. Yummy!:D
Well done Alias and JJ on last night's efforts! JJ, your distances are really progressing, isn't it amazing how quickly you come to accept as the norm feats that you not so long ago felt out of reach?
Have some great runs today out there!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
