Gone BR, Barclaycard are a creditor and opening a Barclays cash card

Went into Barclays this morning to open a cash card account. Told the guy I was BR and that Barclaycard were a creditor. He said "no problem". He started putting my info into the system and it all came up automatically from the Barclaycard. It all went through fine. Left with a sort code and account number... cool...

I think I've read somewhere on here that this could be subsequently rejected by head office ... I'll just have to wait and see ...

We must have a rubbish Barclays where i live as i went in, they gave me forms i gave then back completed and they said they would send them off............................

They then told me that i should be contacted within 2 weeks.......so you did well to get an account that quick.

K2nga, the guy went looking for forms, couldn't find any, so did it on line. Just lucky? I might still be rejected?

Took about half an hour in total.

    Hi
From what I understand, Barclays are one of the few banks that do accept BR's for their basic account even if you owed them money and you get a swanky Visa debit too!

Barclays were one of my biggest creditors I had debts on mastercard/visa card and an overdraft.....yet they fell over themselves to offer me a basic account

Was hoping to get it sorted a bit quicker to get my child benefit paid into.
