Has anyone else had problems with the ACM's. I went to 4 different boots on my travels today all the ACM's were out of order and they have been since the sale started........was wondering if there was a nice glitch they were hiding from me on the machine

I haven't been in Boots since Weds (sale day), but the ACMs were working then.

Well I for one will certainly be writing a strongly worded letter to the Powers That Be about this next month. I know someone on that site also mentioned that only the presence of the Police stopped other women deliberately blocking aisles at Grays!

Good luck to everyone when it comes to a sale, and it is quite possible that some people have large families and only give Boots gifts at Christmas, which they buy in the sale ........ trying to be charitable.

But when you get people bragging about the dozens of this, that and the other they bought, and that they intend to sell it on Flea Bay, a Boot Sale (as opposed to a Boots Sale!) or they're a Market Trader, you start to feel
like you have a nasty taste in your mouth.

I am only just catching up on the thread, still on page 7, but I just cannot understand why people are so greedy and unkind to others.

Sounds as though these people are stopping regular boots shoppers picking up a few sale bargains.
Some people rely on these sale bargains, as they are on low incomes and it helps them to be able to pick up a few cheaper gifts for birthdays and xmas. It is just a shame for everyone, who misses out because of the actions of a few less thoughtful ebayers.

Thank goodness that the regular posters on this thread are such a kind, thoughtful and considerate bunch, even when planning their next uber bargain hunt. People here are always willing to help and advice others :)

Hello all :) After a bit of help.... I don't normally wear much make up just a bit of eyeshadow etc and lippie but now I'm mid twenties decided I could do with some foundation. I only want something pretty light and nothing too expensive, £15 -£20 max. I had looked at the new no7 mineral stuff but some people say it's very heavy and more for evenings - I just want something for occasional day to day use? Any suggestions off you wonderful bootsers?

Hi , I find all No 7 foundations heavy. Im using Max Factor Minerals make up at the minute and it great.

Me the same. No7 also too dark for my face but absolutely loving the max factor minerals. I use the no7 minerals blusher with it tho as feel this is nicer than max factor blushers.
Best thing about it is you can put as much or as little on as you want.

ooooh and so as to keep on topic (which yes I know I have moaned about in the past!) don't forget to use the 300 points voucher from the max factor GWP :j

Thanks for your good wishes. I've managed to get mine up to 7.8 now so am feeling a bit better, still a bit fainty if i stand up for long though. I fought the doc about going into hospital for a transfusion as I had one in 2000 and had a terrible time. Still, I think I'm getting better now. Hard though isn't it, cos no-one can see you are poorly and think you just need to pull yourself together! You are doing well now! Great.

I feel really cross with myself as my Boots had loads of those No.7 travel bags. I was going to get one then thought I would be good as I didn't really need it. If I had known so many people wanted them I could have got them for them.

    Anyone in Lincoln area?

    Lynne

Glad you are feeling a bit better just keep taking the iron tablets.

I love the NO 7 travel bag i managed to get. Going on a hen weekend soon so will use it then.

Loughborough boots has some silly piggie keyrings in the sale lol and MILLIONS of rolls of wrapping paper at thats it!

Anyway, I managed to blag 2x UG Spritz sets for £6!! The SA said she wasn't very happy about it but her manager told her they had to honour it because the sign wasn't very clear and she told me I'd better have appreciated it!! lol.

Also, there were loads of S&G Admit it sets there, still with the offer of getting them free when you spend £12. Got one of the spray sets & a foot cream and got the set free as thought it would be good together in a hamper.

Fair bit of no7 clearance opposite normal no7 stand - mostly creams and dodgy nail varnishes though. got 2x body polishes free with blinkies!!

Yes, I get the darkening at the corners of my eyes/bridge of nose but I have NEVER been able to find anything that is good at covering it- would you say it's quite effective for this- or just for general coverage of spots etc? A trip to Boots may be in order- as if I needed an excuse! I haven't even been this year yet, and I know I am missing out on soooo much
Apologies for more chat, but couldn't resist this one. Have you tried Benefit Eye Bright ? It is a pink pencil designed for 'brightening' the outer corners of your eyes and the inner corners and side of nose. Couldn't do without it after a night out ! It doesn't cover circles under the eyes, though - Touch Eclat ( or equaivalent (I'm using Avon at the moment, which is fine)) for those.

I've never had any problems myself. I can't see that they can change the settings in one store but not another surely

I'd try a no7 clearance item that had no CLEARANCE sticker on it (just reduced on shelf label) at least the SA can't argue with you if it goes thru.

If you do use a ss till and it doesn't go thru, just leg it and leave the stuff at the till :rotfl:
