  • After this years debacle on Boots.com, I really hope they decide to implement a similar system to Next online sale, whereby you get a time slot and VIP invite if you spend enough/ place enough online orders with them throughout the year, much more civilised and sensible, and certainly no crashing of website. Also think online should definately also limit number of each item that you can purchase 3/4 should be enough for anyone, other than in fairly special circumstances.

In theory a good idea and I thought the same after this years debacle, the Next VIP slots work very well to limit the users to the site at any given time. Though, it is a very unfair system as those without slots feel very unfairly treated and unless you get a slot on the first day you have little chance of getting anything worth having anyway. How would you feel if your friend was offered a slot and you weren't? Tough one. You can never please everyone.

My friend has just been with a few bits she bought here, Dr Who Rotary Toothbrush under £2, Dalek Bubble Bath about £1.25, Bratz Compact Make Up Set under £2 & another Bratz product can't remember what but she spent under £8 in total & it all looked really nice. She said there was a lot of kids gift type things left - not toys - but nothing at all for men which is what she went for.

I got an email from customer service about my complaint.
Anyway the bloke says in the email:

There is no guaranteed date when this will be active again (the sale), however it will not be until this error has been corrected. As soon as this has been done, the sale will be re-advertised again in advance before it is made active.

So that probably means a gazillion people simultaneously descending on the Boots website the minute it starts again then!

I went to a charity shop this morning and could not believe my eyes when I saw a No 7 complete collection. I don't need it, but I know a few of people here are looking for it. I was going to get it, but a lady in front of me managed to grab it, and she was delighted to find it priced at £10

So it might be worth getting your eyes peeled at your local charity shop ;)
  • Just a thought, not sure if this would work or not but do you think we could order the sale products at full price online, then return to store and buy back at the sale price??
Just thinking for the people who missed out on the sale instore and when it was online

No - online and store stock are separate (they are almost ran as two separate companies). If you return .com stock via a store it is returned to .doc, you can't then buy it straight back from the store...
